A successful Trump Presidency would have required a hundred qualified, cold-eyed men to take up positions of authority and begin arresting seditionists. Trump had no idea how large the task in front of him was. And he did not have a hundred reliable men with DC experience - he had to play the hand he was dealt and try to win over the GOPe by putting their people in important positions.
Pessimism? Based on the possibility that the most talentless hack politician in American history, Hillary "Wiped With a Cloth" Clinton, might inflict herself on the Democrats again?
