Here comes the Hurricane Porn.
Back in the day, tropical storms were really not that big of a deal, nationally. But ever since hurricanes let up, and we have 24 hour stations dedicated to reporting weather events, suddenly they are big news.
As for me, I don’t live there, so it’s really not relevant, though I might get a bit more rain than usual since I’m in Kentucky.
The good news is it’s forecast to remain a tropical storm the whole way.
whatever
Yes, hope that is all it is and this storm stays small and goes out into the Atlantic.
“Missed it by that much”
If one lives on the E coast of Fl, I would not put much faith in the TS the whole way projection. The NHC has a very low probability score on that happening. One model shows a cat 4 storm off West Palm sometime Sunday. It all depends on whether the storm gets destroyed by the major island of Hispanola. Right now, it is projected to pass to the near north side which would not be a good thing. It is a small size storm storm which is good and bad, these storms can go up in intensity or down very quickly. Also, if they hit a 10000 foot mtn like on the DR, they could just go away. Hope for the best and plan for the worse if one lives on the East Coast of Fl till things get more clear in 48 hours.
What, me worry? Trump will just nuke it.
The interaction with mountains is important, but more important for the people of Florida will be the amount of wind shear when the storm gets there. People in Florida should always be prepared during hurricane season.
Panic induced stupidity hurts more people than the storms.
I’ve lived in Florida long enough to realize that a tropical storm is just a windy, rainy day or two.
Yes Chief.....I demand the Cone of Uncertainty!
No, you pay taxes so people can live and play on the water.
Yeah. That’s frustrating, but I’m not ready to take up arms about it. And that is the only action that would give results. Unfortunately, they would be bad results for me.
I choose my battles. The way I fight this sort of stuff is to have as little **taxable** income as possible.
You might say that Florida lies in the Dorian Gray-area.
(Then again ;-)
Come on people its a tropical storm
