Rep. Sean Duffy (R-Wis.) announced on Monday that he is resigning from Congress after being elected to his fifth term in 2018.
"After eight and a half years, the time has come for me to focus more on the reason we fight these battles — family," Duffy said in a Facebook post.
Duffy — who was first elected to represent Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District during the Tea Party wave in 2010 — said he will leave his seat on Sept. 23 after finding out his ninth child has a heart condition.
“Recently, we’ve learned that our baby, due in late October, will need even more love, time, and attention due to complications, including a heart condition. With much prayer, I have decided that this is the right time for me to take a break from public service in order to be the support my wife, baby and family need right now. It is not an easy decision — because I truly love being your Congressman — but it is the right decision for my family, which is my first love and responsibility,” he said in his post.

Truth is there is plenty, plenty of dead weight to trim— but worse candidates or just plain statist-republicans waiting in the wings to replace him.
Yes, back in the day, it was very nice to see Rachel, an attractive, intelligent “Young Republican,” featured on MTV’s Real World. Prayers for this family and their 9th child.

Well a nice little break to help take care of his family and the soon to be born little one and then there just so happens to be a WI Governor election taking place in 2022...

Duffy is one of the good guys. His father was in my class in high school.
I’ve thought for a long time, someday he could be POTUS. Governor of Wisconsin would be an excellent springboard.
Members of Congress ignore their duties all the time when running for office. We are seeing this now during this interminably long election cycle.
He should do the same, ask for a leave of absence, take car of his family and see with the prognosis is.
