August statistics from the National Association of Realtors noted the city and state’s real estate market has severely underperformed, a trend forecasted to continue in the third quarter of this year. While the Midwest and the nation as a whole saw a very minor dip in home sales and surging Midwest home prices, Chicago missed the wave. Home sales in the Windy City experienced a 13.3% plunge, and the typical home sale price is barely climbing at all.

It’s that whole state. When you go back through the history of our country, so many bad things came from Chicago. And its pizza sucks.
And these same homeowners keep voting for these thieving, lying dog turds. They have no sympathy from me, this is self-inflicted.
We can pay these fat pensions for gov’t workers. Just divert more money from road repair. Potholes will make drivers more nimble as they weave around them.
Electric rates in California will soon to be .22 cent a kw , why stop there?.... 9 cents elsewhere in the nation or lower. Gas taxes are $1.00 higher in California then anywhere else in the nation, why not raise them some more?
I am sure the taxpayers do not mind not being able to retire with more savings as they know some gov’t worker who has run this state into the dumpster will be able to retire in style.
We can retire to the sidewalks, the brush or the woods or a thousand other formally nice areas.
Not really true, there are certain benefits that you derive from being a property owner....police and fire protection, road maintenance etc. that they require you to pay for.

2) They are SERVICES (don’t use, don’t pay).

One doesn’t pay the property taxes, the State comes & evicts you from said property. AKA you don’t own it.

They can't bill a renter directly, the home owner pays the tax and adds it to the rent....the police virtually come when called and the fire department too. Gas taxes don't pay for snow plowing, street sweeping, crossing guards etc, property taxes do. If you don't pay your rent/property tax, the landlord will throw you out,,,same results,
