Stanford University is pushing a separate physics course for minorities in hopes that it will result in more diversity among physics majors.
A 2016 survey revealed Stanfords physics department to be one of the least diverse departments within the institution, and the university has since embarked on a mission to resolve that supposed concern, according to a university news release.
Creation of special curricula and support services for ethnic minority groups and women...textbook examples of unequal treatment Tweet This One step Stanford has taken is promoting a modified version of the standard Mechanics course, a requirement for physics majors, boasting added support.

Stanfords alternate version of this course, Physics 41E, boasts additional class time, as well as learning assistants, individuals with a passion for education equity, who are paid by the university to guide students through the difficult course.
The university says this modified course helps to increase diversity in the field because students from underrepresented groups often dont have the same level of preparation from high school as their majority peers.

Was it U of North Carolina that made up phantom courses for some of their athletes? They were PE courses, naturally. I though, while you’re at it, why not give them some challenging phantom courses?
"I have a dream. That one day our scientists and physicists will be judged by their ability to differentiate equations, and not the color of their skin"

Leroy bust a cap in a Blood. The Blood be six feet tall. Cap deforms and do not exit head at five foot nine inch. Blood weigh 168 pounds. Blood fall backwards. Assuming cap is only reason he fall that way, calculate the weight and speed required to make him fall backwards.
Separate but equal?
Answer.
Who cares? The MFer is dead.
learning assistants, individuals with a passion for education equity,
Yep. We sure did. Now its back in style. And in the same place that it always was: on the Left.
Last time I looked, the electromagnetic spectrum didn’t care what color your skin was. I’m pretty sure Newton’s laws of motion work the same regardless of where you come from - their frame of reference has nothing to do with ethnicity. The notion that certain races may need a different curricula, that they cannot hack the regular one, is actually racist. I know that term has been wildly over used and inappropriately applied far too much lately. But this right here, this kind of thing actually is racist at its foundation.

All those less thans will have to be changed to greater thans.
This is real racism. The bigotry of low expectations.
The section between 400 and 700 nm wavelength cares quite a bit.
That was them separate from us, not us separate from them ... apparently.
E=MC squared is so patriarchal. We should at least try it cubed for a while.
I'm finding that I cannot relate to my math books very well. I'm pretty intelligent, was in the gifted children classes and scored high on IQ tests, and have a high GPA. But whenever I look at a math book it's like the way they talk is so...how shall I say it...white conservative? It's just a turn-off for me and I also think other minorities to be reading a book written by someone we are supposed to resent or that resents us.
Are there any Ebonics math books out there? I'm finishing up the higher math courses at the undergraduate level and I'm just starting to get sick of it. If it were presented in a different way then maybe I could dig it and would enjoy it more.
It's almost like a conspiracy. Those that don't think like white men can't make it, because the books are all written for people that think like them. In a way it protects white society because then only white-washed minorities become educated and get the good jobs with the other educated white people.
Excellent method to help people start to believe minorities are inferior in some way.
They couldn’t do any worse.
This is just full on dangerous. Please don’t ever design a plane I will fly on.....
