Former Congressman Joe Walsh officially announced his candidacy for the 2020 Republican nomination today, vowing to defeat incumbent President Donald J. Trump.
"Friends, I'm in. We can't take four more years of Donald Trump. And that's why I'm running for President. It won't be easy, but bravery is never easy," Walsh tweeted. "But together, we can do it."
"We have someone in the White House who we all know is unfit. Someone who lies virtually every time he opens his mouth," he stated in his campaign video. "We cannot afford four more years."
Since exiting Congress, Walsh has been in the news for his outspoken criticism of President Trump, previous tweets claiming former President Obama is a Muslim, and being pranked by Sacha Baron Cohen into showing support for arming kindergarten students with guns.
Walsh claims he was tricked into showing support for a made-up Israeli defense program titled "The Kindergaurdians." He was invited by Cohen's team to accept a phony award, and was asked to sit down for an interview. He was told to read from a teleprompter that the program was "an example of how Israel trains and arms preschool kids on how to use firearms, and boy shouldnt we do that in America?
In an interview on CNN regarding that stunt, Michael Smerconish asked, "Did an alarm go off in your head, congressman?"
"It did," Walsh answered, "but it was too late."
He joins former Massachusetts governor Bill Weld in challenging the president on the GOP side.
Oh look, another totally pointless Repubic egomaniac.
How common.
Where will his base of support come from? Trump has unified the conservative base and the Left will never support him.
In an interview a few years ago he sounded somewhat rational. What happened to him?
If Trump tweets about this loser he will only give his show an audience which it doesn’t have. Trump knows it. Maybe a passing comment during a press briefing, muffled by the sound of helicopter rotors, should be enough.
How can anyone take 4 more years of record unemployment, economic growth, lower taxes, less regulations, repatriated businesses, and plain talk? (Sarc). These critics never cite examples of what they’re complaining about.
Two idiots with musical names . . . Al Green and Joe Walsh.
Needs the money or needs to up his audience for his radio show (need’s the money!).
but bravery is never easy
Just one of the little life rules I learned over 75 years of life.
You knew someone would run. I think he may actually help Trump. If he keeps Rinos from voting for Biden then its Trumps advantage.
He gets to collect a few donations from never trumper’s. Sock them away, then when he folds his campaign later it’s a nice little chunk of change. And a little bit of free publicity
“Where will his base of support come from?”
He’s got George Will, Scaramucci and Bill Krystal locked down.
What a jerk off.
If Bill Kristol supports this guy, he may as well drop right back out. Instant “Non-Qual” status.
This guy has some racist tweets in his past.
Country Club Republicans from Northeastern blue states the President has no hope at winning.
Bravery doesn’t mean what it used to, evidently. I always thought bravery was running in front of Japanese machineguns and artillery on Guam to retrieve a wounded, screaming GI with no thought for your own safety.
Nowadays “courage” is attributed to a faggot appearing on TV or a transgender 3rd grader.

Boiler-plate BS. Substitute BHO for DJT, and it could have been said by any Republican candidate in 2012, but with credibility. Specifics are the death of campaign rhetoric.
