The teasing is apparently over for former Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper. Even before his presidential bid crashed and burned in spectacular fashion, Democrats had been pleading with him to drop out and take a run at Cory Gardner’s Senate seat. Apparently, Hickenlooper is taking the Vox populi, vox Dei approach because he announced this morning that he will be doing precisely that. (Associated Press)

That’s a joke excuse. Elway doesn’t want to do politics and be hated by half the state.
According to my family members who live in Colorado, Hickenshitter has no greater chance to take the seat than any other democrat who might get the nomination. Why? Because hard-core democrats are going to vote for the party candidate no matter the nominee. The two key variables are independent voters and the Cal-holes who have invaded the state. If Trumps supporters go to the polls in mass, then Gardner will hold the seat.
Also keep in mind that in his first run for governor, Hickenshitter only got 51% of the vote, and in his second run, he only received 49% of the vote in winning by a plurality.
Could well be. I’m sure a lot of good people are scared off by the toxicity of our political system - mostly directed towards conservatives.

One of his illegal aliens (Raul Gomez-Garcia) murdered Denver police detective Donald Young and wounded detective John Bishop… children lost their father / wife lost her husband.
The Denver Post reported in 2005 that Hickenlooper’s Wynkoop restaurant had in the previous year employed 107 people who did not have matching Social Security numbers... Big bucks to Hick for evading taxes ?

Hickenlooper has always been a gun grabber which IMHO is the ultimate in control freakery.
Not pro-Glenn Beck, but look up “Helium Thursday” on youtube. Glenn & pals in digital helium voice while airing a CNN town hall where Hickenlooper admits to having once taken his mother to see “Deep Throat”, not knowing at age 20 what an X-rated movie was.
His rivals could derail his campaign with this.

That’s good but he needs to do more than that. He has to get Trump to campaign in CO. That is the only way Gardner stands a chance.
Except that Colorado was a Clinton state. Trump is unlikely to outpoll Gardner there.

People in CO always seem to make the worst possible choice of candidates.
Gardner is one I loathe personally but do realize no other conservative could win the leftist-transformed CO. He does vote more conservatively than he talks.
Yes, Now Gardner needs to get off of the “cheap labor express” and quit fighting Trump on ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION!

He doesn't think Hickenlooper will beat Gardner. In fact, he is quite confident Gardner will keep the seat. I don't know where the confidence is coming from but I certainly hope he's right! One thing we could have going for us is a lackluster Dem Presidential candidate. If the Dems are ho-hum about their candidate (article today they are bored with the candidates), it could help us with turnout. You know DJT supporters are going to crawl over broken glass to vote!

I wasn’t making a statement about him, just was interested in his take on the SU Senate race in Colorado. I was very surprised he was so confident Gardner will win. It is pretty much acknowledged nationally that is a possible Dem pick up.
Understood, he just annoys me.
Cory sold us as a tea party candidate, but turned out to be a big spender. He also firmly believes in Global Warming and is in the back pocket of the Eco-profiteers. He promotes economically unsustainable alternate energy non stop. He is a fool. Say hello to Senator Hickenlooper. Cory should have been challenged by a solid conservative for the primary, but I don’t think anyone like that exists in the Colorado GOP any more.
