More than two decades before Jeffrey Epstein took his own life, a woman went into a California police station and filed one of the earliest sex-crime complaints against him: that he groped her during what she thought was a modeling interview for the Victorias Secret catalog.
Alicia Arden said she never heard back from investigators about her complaint. No charges ever came of it. And to this day she sees it as a glaring missed opportunity to bring the financier to justice long before he was accused of sexually abusing dozens of teenage girls and women.

At this point in time, it makes no sense to me to summarize anything. Epstein is deceased, and the report was 22 years ago. The whole of the report should be released. It appears that the detective kissed the incident off.
It was Santa Monica. Why would the police in California care about a groper? Kids in the Entertainment Industry are routinely molested and NO ONE has been arrested. But then it is frequently same-sex molesting and the authorities there havent cared about that.
It’s ironic that the only ones who actually got him convicted and registered as a sex offender are the only ones who have been harmed by it.
That's the lead? They mention suicide right at the top of this story about events from 1997?? Boy, they are pushing that "takes his own life" narrative hard.
I’d like to know when the Epstein blackmail circuit started.
I’m pretty sure he was used by the CIA/deep state to blackmail powerful people so they can control them. This is why Barr allowed him to commit suicide (or be murdered).
Epstein’s defense would be that he was working for the CIA and would call as witnesses key CIA agents and directors. An operation like this would shock America to the core. So instead they kill the one guy that can expose it. Now Barr is still free to go after the pedophiles and he won’t expose the deep state’s darkest secret.
“Exactly how did he touch you, missy? Like this?”
12 years ago this was on the news. Why didn’t she speak up then?
How does your theory account for Epsteins dead man switch......or the countless tapes, videos, eye witnesses, etc
Cut the lady some slack. Imagine what it was like for her to go to police, make a complaint and then have the cops or the DA do absolutely nothing. Who in their right mind would come forward again 10 years later when your initial complaint was ignored or dismissed. Face it. Epstein had power and connections with lowlife politicians. He made a fortune and got away with his crimes for many years.
I’m not sure I’m following. I haven’t seen his deadman switch yet. But even if he had one...he was protecting himself from the deep state he was doing “business” with. If he actually had a deadman switch it would be more evidence he was working for the deep state.
No one else can use the “working for CIA” defense as they were not directly working with them—only Epstein. Now all the others can be prosecuted without requiring to reveal the deep state blackmail op.
I’m betting his connections to powerful people kept him from bring thrown in jail as he deserved.
I noticed that too.
Every story mentions Epstein’s ‘suicide’ in the title and prominent paragraphs, as if it is NOT controversial.
More than two decades before Jeffrey Epstein took his own life...
Just as an aside, I see the suicide narrative is being pushed full hog
The lines have been drawn.
They didn’t only fail to stop him; they emboldened him. They made him feel he was invinceable.
When the cop on the desk researched her name and the charge he came up with a Don’t Touch It response and filed the report in the memory hole.
Or maybe the cops actually had more important crimes to warrant their time. He grabbed her in a hotel room. It was his word against hers. No other witnesses. The cops knew it was a waste of time.
“More than two decades before Jeffrey Epstein took his own life, a woman went into a California police station and filed one of the earliest sex-crime complaints against him: that he groped her during what she thought was a modeling interview for the Victorias Secret catalog.”
While I agree that no woman should be groped (or further attacked) simply for trying out for a job, expecting the police to give a damn might be taking things a bit far, at least in that part of the country.
