This lawsuit is the latest out of California to challenge the Trump administration's policies. San Francisco and Santa Clara counties successfully sued over the president's executive order to cut funding for "sanctuary cities" that limit cooperation with immigration officials.

Let them all come and let the poor taxpayer subsidize the process.

We’ll watch as CA finally implodes - from what I gather, there are more people on welfare (inclusive) than there are taxpayers.

Let them sue.

They are now showing the world what they stand for - taxing us to subsidize foreigners.

They can’t run on that - it’s a loser in any election.

The only way they keep crap like that is with the courts.

The real question is - will the “Republicans” in California or the rest of the country have the guts to use this obvious issue?

Not being a public charge has been the cornerstone of American immigration law for centuries.

This doesn’t make any sense. I was told legal and illegal immigrants pay taxes and don’t use welfare. Why would these counties need to sue for services not rendered?

If the migrant farmer needs food stamps, then they are not being payed enough. Pay them enough to not be on public assistance and let the market handle the increase in produce cost. That is how a free market works.

“low income immigrants”

I saw that phrase used two days ago on a News Feed on my iPhone.

I knew right then it would become the new Mantra.

“The rules, the counties argued, would result in a “chilling effect” in which migrants forgo or dis-enroll from federal public assistance programs to reduce the risk of being denied a green card. This practice would mean that the cost of services would shift from federal to state governments, the counties argued.”

And there it is.

There Trump goes again. Merely trying enforce current laws and gets tremendous push back from Democrats. Sadly, the GOP as AWOL as always on these issues.

Traditionally, one of the most important factors in applying for immigrant status in most countries was to prove you would not be a burden to the society there. You had to prove you had job, money, qualifications, sponsors, sufficient that you would not have to resort to public assistance.

That’s still the case most places. If you have a good pension, or money to invest, or if your job sends you there and keeps you there, immigration is pretty easy. If you cross the border with the clothes on your back and no visa, legal status is going to be tough.

The importance of an illegal alien being classified a refugee or being granted asylum. From the SSI web site:

You may receive SSI for a maximum of 7 years from the date DHS granted you immigration status in one of the following categories, and the status was granted within 7 years of filing for SSI:

small blue and black arrowRefugee under Section 207 of the INA;

small blue and black arrowAsylee under Section 208 of the INA;

small blue and black arrowAlien whose deportation was withheld under Section 243(h) of the INA or whose removal is withheld under Section 241(b)(3) of the INA;

No, they will be interviewing crying hungry Children, American Citizens thanks to our ridiculous Anchor Baby Laws, and all the Suburban Soccer Mommy's will Vote to Elect one of the 20 Democrat Bolsheviks to end this cruelty.

They pulled this crap here in MS after the ICE Raids already. with all the bad Press ICE and POTUS Trump got here, MS could end up helping to Elect the next Democrat Bolshevik POTUS in 2020. Normal people here are squealing like stuck Pigs over this.

I live in Kentucky. Whenever I hear people discuss the plight of the illegal immigrants and their children, I wonder why they don’t focus their attention on the plight of ACTUAL CITIZENS in places like eastern KY and West Virginia.
