Several high-profile Senate Democrats warned the Supreme Court in pointed terms this week that it could face a fundamental restructuring if justices do not take steps to "heal" the court in the near future.

And court-packing is now healing.
Not in our lifetime.. those days are long gone.

Heal = be more liberal (progressive).
This is just one of many things the Democrats will do the next time they hold the Senate, House, and White House.
They were THIS close to finishing the destruction of the Constitution and would have if Hillary was elected. They will not miss the opportunity to make sure next time they own D.C..
It will be the end of the United States, and the completion of the Socialist States of America. When that happens, democracies and republics around the world will fall in record time, and the Elitists will celebrate the end of freedom on this planet. With their FBI-Google surveillance, electronic banking/IRS data, and voting records, the gulags will be filled with anyone who even breathes a whisper of dissent for the new global socialist empire.
I say abolish the Supreme Court or require the justices to stand for election. It’s totally political anyway.
The SCOTUS will be healed when the Gang of Four - or at least a couple of them - are replaced by Strict Constructionists.

One thing I don't see discussed when CWII is brought up is my belief that not only the government will have access to NBC WMD’s.

The next time that the Dems control both houses of Congress and the Presidency may very well be the last time that the USA will have a true constitutional republic. The Dems have changed so much, even from when Obama’s first two years when they had that power and passed Obamacare. Now they are in-your-face Leftists.

He should simply say that he could support 11 or 13 justices for SCOTUS - after all, he would love to appoint the additional justices.

I agree with your post completely. Obama had the trifecta for awhile, but he was too lazy and distracted to do much with it.
The next Democrat to have the trifecta will be much more driven. He/she will be some blend of the worst of Hillary Clinton and the worst of Bernie Sanders. Then it’s either a Convention of States or the end of the Republic.
