HARLEM (WABC) -- Authorities have arrested a Broadway producer at his Harlem home in a child pornography investigation.
NYPD officers and Homeland Security Investigations agents arrested 65-year-old Ben Sprecher early Tuesday.
He was expected to appear in federal court later.
In 2012, Sprecher was a central figure in a scandal surrounding the musical "Rebecca." The show collapsed days before rehearsals began, leading to a FBI fraud investigation into the circumstances.

Yes, it cannot be unseen, and it literally destroys lives.
I sadly know more than a few people who were sexually molested and many the abuse started when they were very young.
Some sadly never escape the demons, others, manage to escape the worst, but are very “broken” people. Even if they appear functional to most, they have desires and needs that they cannot escape because of what was done to them, no matter how much they may desire not to have them.
Why does it always seem to be ugly old farts?
When my beloved was on active duty he went to see a court martial. He didn’t know who it was for or what it was about; he just read it was happening and wanted more to see what the Court Martial process entailed.
He was shocked to see it was a MSGT from another shop, whom he had known in passing.
He was sickened by the charges. This guy had raped his own daughter. He elected to plead guilty rather than put his daughter through more hell. When he started to describe his actions to the judge my poor beloved had to leave the courtroom.
When he got back to his shop and told the guys about the court martial and details he heard they were all pretty much ready to be sick.
That was over 35 years ago and he still turns ashen talking about it. Never did find out the guy’s sentence, though he’s thinking the guy is still in a military prison.

Thanks. Just spoke to my husband about him. He said he always thought he was a fruit although he was married.
While an Area Defense Counsel in Panama, I represented a MSgt who had a months-long sexual relationship with his 12-year-old stepdaughter. The worst thing about the representation was dealing with the family, who somehow thought it was more important to protect him, the breadwinner, than her, the victim. Evil exists.
When I was in the military we had a guy in the squadron who was found guilty of sexually assaulting his own daughter. His wife turned in him. There was talk of her turning him in only because of a divorce. Of course, when he got convicted the family lost everything as well.
Incest (involuntary) between siblings is also one of those crimes that is very rarely prosecuted; between family shame and economics justice goes out the window.
It’s truly a horrible thing.
