The Land of Lincoln will require public schools to incorporate LGBTQ figures into history lessons.
Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker on Friday signed House Bill 246, which mandates the following: In public schools only, the teaching of history shall include a study of the roles and contributions of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people in the history of this country and this State.
The bill, introduced by Rep. Anna Moeller, will go into effect in July.

State Sen. Heather Steans, who also sponsored the bill, said earlier this year that lawmakers sought to not only teach an accurate version of history but also promote acceptance of the LGBTQ community.
One of the best ways to overcome intolerance is through education and exposure to different people and viewpoints, the Democrat said, WGN reported.

If the people had done anything truly important, they’d already be in the history books. It isn’t necessary to know what they did behind closed doors.
My husband and I (to clarify we are male/female in a traditional marriage) are childless Illinois taxpayers nearing retirement age. This disgusting development solidifies our decision to move out of Illinois as soon as we can. This is heartbreaking because both of our extended families live in Illinois. We do not feel accepted in our home state.

Regarding unconstitutional, pro-LGBT bullying by the states, there are two predictable problems with respect to IL citizens being able to protect their constitutionally enumerated rights from abridgment by the state.
First, regardless that the 14th Amendment (14A) protects even minority citizens from abridgment of their constitutionally enumerated rights by the states, the question is do the good citizens of IL know their constitutional protections so that they can use them?
From the 14th Amendment:
"Section 1: All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States [emphasis added]; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.
"Section 5: The Congress shall have power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article."
Note that that Acts 22:25-29 shows that Apostle Paul claimed his Roman citizenship to get out of a flogging.
The second problem with respect to states abridging constitutionally enumerated protections is this. Were still stuck with a worthless Congress left over from the lawless Obama Administration that will predictably not lift a finger to make penal laws to discourage renegade states like IL from abridging constitutionally enumerated protections.
The remedy for constitutionally failed federal and state governments
All patriots in the nation need to come to the rescue of citizens being oppressed by activist states that ignore constitutionally enumerated protections, IL citizens in this example, by doing the following.
Patriots need to elect a new patriot Congress in the 2020 elections that will not only promise to support PDJTs vision for MAGA, now KAG, but will also promise to exercise its express 14A powers to make penal laws to discourage state actors from abridging constitutionally enumerated protections, 1st Amendment-protected freedom of religious expression and free speech in this example.

Teaching a few minutes on the gay rights movement is appropriate in a high school/college survey course of American history when getting to the mid-20th century and beyond, but other than that, what is there to teach? Yes, there have always been people around who have had relations with the same sex, but their relevance to history has NOTHING to do with their sexual desires. And, of course, it’s mostly guesswork when dealing with such things anyway despite the leftist activist tendency to label everyone in history a homosexual.
It's really not. It happens in societies that are quite indulgent of these people, such as in San Fransisco and Sweden.
They kill themselves because they have a mental illness that makes it impossible for them to find happiness.
