Trump Ending Welfare-Dependent Immigration, Saving Taxpayers Billions
Breitbart ^ | 12 Aug 2019 | JOHN BINDER

Posted on 08/12/2019 9:10:52 AM PDT by conservative98

President Trump is set to save American taxpayers billions of dollars as his administration announces a new rule on Monday that will essentially ban welfare-dependent legal immigrants from permanently resettling in the United States.

A new regulation set to be published by the Trump administration will ensure that legal immigrants would be less likely to secure a permanent residency in the U.S. if they have used any forms of welfare in the past, including using subsidized healthcare services, food stamps, and public housing.

The regulation will be a boon for American taxpayers in the form of an annual $57.4 billion tax cut — the amount taxpayers spend every year on paying for the welfare, crime, and schooling costs of the country’s mass importation of 1.5 million new, mostly low-skilled legal immigrants.

I remember when anyone coming into this Country had to be Sponsored by someone so they wouldn’t be a burden on Taxpayers. When did that change?

The only reason these cockroaches from El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras were coming here was because the state run television networks in those countries were running ads on the their tv stations telling these arrogant beggars that the Americans were going to give them all free housing, free health care and free education. That's why there were so many of these caravans. Bastards.

It changed in 1965 when the immigration laws were changed. We went from admitting 300,000 a year to admitting a million a year. Freshmen senator Ted Kennedy(D. Mass) wrote the bill.

It’s always been the law.

It’s just that the last FOUR Presidents didn’t care about the law.

They were intentionally turning US into North Mexico.

They should have required that anyone wanting in would have to take a drive with Teddy in his Oldsmobile.

I get that for those wanting to become legal immigrants to this country.

Now, how do we stop the siphoning by illegals that reproduce on our soil, a.k.a. anchor babies?

I believe that "likely to become a ward of the state" is still on the books as grounds for exclusion. It just hasn't been enforced.

During the supposedly peak days of Ellis Island (1892-1924 though the Island remained open in some form until 1954), up to 5% of emigres were denied admittance, the three main reasons being criminal history, communicable diseases or deemed likely to become a ward of the state.

Yet another ‘future tense’ statement.....
Get far too many of ‘fixin to, will, soon etc’

Looking for present tense ..
‘has stopped etc’

Better past tense
‘Had stopped etc etc’

Exactly. Believe it when I see it.

Plus, it’s not like anyone is following Federal Law these days.

My parents had a sponsor back in the 1920’s, when they came over from Italy. They also each had a skill and went to work immediately.

They won’t be given a choice to follow the law or not. They just won’t be allowed in. At least some of them.

Yep, my grandfather came over from Sicily, nothing was too much as long as he got work, in an economy still depressed, he helped dig the NYC subway system, with a shovel.

When my grandmother immigrated from Scotland in the early 1900s she had to prove she had a job and a sponsor had to sign that they would accept financial responsibility if she was unable to support herself.

That’s what I’m wondering!

I know I was taught that back in the 80s.

You are right. I suppose the answer is both. Enforce cureent laws, do not release illegal immigrant employers from prison and complete the wall.
Repeal birthright citizenship.

“t’s just that the last FOUR Presidents didn’t care about the law.”

And how about the previous FOUR Congresses? Surely they are not without blame.

How many of those did Republicans control the House? The Senate? Both?
