It still CRACKS ME UP that otherwise conservative parents willingly send their kids to government schools, which they know are run by Left-wing ideologues in state government, and then those SAME PARENTS complain when the Leftists running those schools, well, behave like Leftists.
Do they really expect the Tooth Fairy to run the government schools or something?
I am sure most conservative parents would be happy to send their children to private schools if we had private vouchers. Instead, you are taxed $150,000 to send each of your kids to public school K-12. So if you have 2 kids, that $300,000.
Now to send your kids to private K-12, flush that $300,000 in taxes down the toilet and you get to spend another $500,000 on top of that. For most solid middle class earners, you can expect to have to earn at least $700,000 more to net $500,000 after fed, state, and local taxes on that money.
Yes, some people can and do pay that exorbitant additional sum to insure their children have a better education, and it takes painful sacrifice to do so. Many people just don’t have the disposal dollars for it, and others just don’t want to have to dress their children in rags, eat Mac & cheese 5 nights a week, and cancel their children’s medical insurance just to be able to afford that.
I am sure most conservatives would love to get their children out of government brainwashing schools. As the same time, the government has taxed them to death to the point it is every difficult/painful to do. It is not like the 1960s when parents of even modest means/blue collar/lower middle class could afford private school for their children, at least K-8 if nothing else.
The government is taxing us to death, so it doesn’t CRACK ME UP when good conservative parents are tearing their hair out trying to make the best choices for their children will allocating the scarce and hard to come by resources that are left over after the government rapes you of the sweat of your back.
