It’s not too late to tell the GOP to keep their 2nd Amendment promises
NOQ Report ^ | August 11, 2019 | JD Rucker

If you’re having a hard time distinguishing between many of our Republicans lawmakers and their Democratic counterparts lately, you’re not alone. The calls for gun control laws coming from both sides are deafening following last weekend’s mass shootings. They’re crumbling under the pressure of progressives who claim thoughts and prayers are not enough, that we must DO something.

The problem is in emotional reactions that are driving the calls for universal background checks, red flag gun laws, and “assault weapons” bans. Many Republicans are scrambling for a response, not a solution. They’re trying to find something they can hang their hats on as action even if common sense, logic, and facts tell us the proposed responses are not the solution.

Do we have a gun problem? No. Absolutely not. We have a criminal problem. We have a mental illness problem. We have a spiritual problem. The first two can be mitigated through legislation. The last can only be fixed through an awaking of the soul of the United States behind a Biblical worldview and through the continued spreading of the Gospel. Yes, Christianity is arguably the fastest way through which we can prevent mass shootings. The more Americans who repent and believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, the fewer people there will be who are capable of these heinous acts. Moreover, the power of prayer and spiritual intervention can reach the hearts of those who may be on the verge of breakdown.

But Americans like the tangible, so there is still a need to address our problems with criminals and the mentally ill through secular means. That means legislation. But the legislation currently being proposed does not address the issues properly.

Universal background checks are the closest of the three proposed solutions to being something

This week let's let our RINO elected officials at State, Local and National levels know that we oppose ANY new gun laws making it more difficult for law-abiding Americans to purchase, keep and bear our firearms.

The feminist tactic of using anecdotes is what we’re losing to. For example, a politician like our President was exposed to the grieving family of a child who was killed by a “white supremacist” “mass shooter” with an “assault rifle.” A saddening story to evoke emotions is a very effective political tool. It has deprived many children of their fathers (anecdotes about wife beaters), exposing the children to much more influence from peer pressure (drugs) and divided most families.

"Universal background checks are the closest of the three proposed solutions to being something that could be effective."

Wrong. As soon as Democrats have a little more control over government (if not sooner), universal background checks will facilitate a database of firearms owners and confiscations, one by one and few by few, isolating one person after another for disarming and leaving to the desires of plotting, scheming, sadistic criminals.

And criminals still won’t have their backgrounds checked when buying their stolen weapons. Weapons thefts will also greatly increase, BTW.

Last week was knee-jerk emotional responses from politicians wanting to say Yes to avoid conflict. This week, time for reality check—gun free zones are deadly and need to end; our constitutional rights should not vary state-by-state. Allow our CCW to be valid in any state just like a drivers license. Not far fetched since courts already ruled that homosexual marriage in one state needs to be honored in others. At least our right to bear arms is a constitutionally protected right, so it should be simple.

Wrong.

You are right. Also, almost all of the shooters passed their background checks.

How come the Democrats never cave, only Republicans?

"How come the Democrats never cave, only Republicans?"

Usually because of a dead baby or something like that. But they don't care about the many who will be murdered in home invasions and other attacks after the disarming of law-abiding people.

Might have more to do with getting Trump elected.

I choose Trump because ALL the other options are worse.

Things can be undone later and Trumps the only man that could do it.

Like obama care got undone? You can believe that if it makes you feel better but you are only fooling yourself. Once the laws are on the books, they are there. If you value your life and your freedom, the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution is the hill to die on. In the end, the choice is yours.

With Trump re-elected is the Only way ObamaCare will be undone.

With out winning this election it will be the end of ALL subjects ... gun control, good judges etc.

And legislation can be rewritten later.

Yes it sucks. I get it. But I’ve had to choke sh*t down before to win in the end. That’s what I care about.

The time is now to raise hell! They don’t fear us. They fear the left and the media. It’s time to take on the 2020 motto - Vote the Bums out!

No one bothers to mention the typical gun sale process beginning with Form 4473 that is filled out by the buyer, signed by the licensed FFL, and subsequent phone call to the FBI authorizing the sale of the firearm.

Instead yak... yak... yak... about current background check process and the unwashed remains clueless about current law. Someone get the message to lawmakers to educate the unwashed public.

RINOs support this because it’s a trap for Trump. If he supports it, he won’t be reelected in 2020, which is exactly what they want despite claiming otherwise. It’s a clever trick, but don’t fall for it.

There is not a politician out there who would not be happy to see the citizenry dis-armed.

They are not the GOP; they are the COP [Controlled Opposition Party]. They watch for every opportunity to fold so that they can further the Democrat agenda.

Pox on both parties.

The American people should never identify with any political party, or as one. We vote, we have rights.

We should only vote for those who know those rights are not for the government to trifle with.

Anyone knee jerk law that passes should immediately be vetoed and chucked, if the President actually values his oath.

This legislation isn't aimed at dealer purchases, it's for private sales. There really aren't any requirements there, besides the seller having no reason to believe the buyer isn't a prohibited person.

They will never be able to control private firearms sales. The government isn’t even interested in curbing the illegal drug industry in this country.

If Trump signs one bill restricting my Right to keep and bear arms, I sit out. As far as I can see are miles of promises. Still not a single high profile government official has been perp walked...NOT ONE. Now the Epstein hit carried out under his watch.

There are no serial numbers on drugs. Of course outlawing private sales, and gifts to families, plus signing away your right to keep your medical records private for a kicker. Would you drive to a nearby state and make a private sales purchase when it is already against Federal Law? I thought not. Now make it a crime for any gun sale, and you are risking Federal penitentiary time . THINK.... This begins the registration, that will end in confiscation of ALL arms...Bet on it.
