If we are going to have red flag laws, and I'm not saying we should, there must be some way to distinguish what kind of threat a person is.
Is he mentally ill or merely a big mouth.
Is he aggressive or depressed.
Do we want a woman who once got antidepressant to cope with a brutal assault robbed of her rights to defend herself?

To treat all "mentally ill" as all the same regardless of type and severity is like treating all immigrants, legal or illegal, men, women and children, landscapers or gangsters, as all the same, so you can not criticize any without insulting all (according to some).
They still have all their rights, yet we are about to take rights away from a good chunk of genuine Americans on the mere suspicion of what some of them *might* do.
Now, that's an insult and nobody cares.
We need due process, checks and balances for the red flagged too.

You are correct about how this idea needs to be implemented. Also testing in a few states should give us the answer.

The clear issue is that some of these killers tip their hand to a few people and a portion of them should be put through a mental health screen to see if they are capable of doing damage with their right to keep and bare arms.

Who knows what I ‘might’ do?

Sometimes I do not even know until the situation occurs. However, at that time my response comes from my core beliefs and principles, which are evident by observing my daily life. There is no sign of ‘crazy’ there, unless a real ‘crazy’ wants to invent one for nefarious purposes.
