No big deal. Billionaire sex traffickers with high power political connections have pretty much always killed themselves in custody with impunity. This has always happened. Nothing to see here.
The FBI budget is around 9 billion with 35,000 or so employees they deign to let us to know about.

This is extremely bad for Barr. He should have had three squads of the most trusted, capable and loyal men running shifts to keep watch over this witness.
Now we find there were two guys on watch and someone who had the authority to tell them to go home early, did. And no one was there to raise a red flag and stop it.
It’s beyond disgraceful. This is a damaging blow to what remained of the rule of law, perhaps as of today now officially obliterated in the USA.

Some of the drama gets frustrating around here, but to be fair there were numerous FReepers who stated he would die in his jail cell (insert your conspiracy here). Just saying - this was not a major shock to many of us. He was a major risk for suicide as his life was over and prison had to be difficult for him to face. He was probably in more danger due to what he knew or might have known about very powerful people. On top of that he was a pedophile - not usually a popular guy in a lock-up.
It is difficult to comprehend how BOP could have allowed this to happen with an inmate that allegedly tried to kill himself two weeks ago and was the highest risk/profile guy in that lock-up. Barr is right to be appalled, but DOJ seems to specialize in shooting itself in the foot recently.
Barr is the guy whose purpose is to put on a pretense. Until he proves otherwise he should be considered part of the cabal.

I guess I would feel better if he were deeply saddened. But appalled works, too, I guess. Both are insincere in this case.
