US Attorney General William Barr is “livid” that Jeffrey Epstein was apparently able to kill himself in a high-security federal penitentiary in Manhattan, according to a report on Saturday.
Barr is “determined to get to the bottom of this,” a source told ABC 7, as the Bureau of Prisons announced that the FBI has launched an investigation into the apparent suicide of the convicted sex offender.
The stunning developments come a day after a trove of newly unsealed documents implicated a number of powerful people in Epstein’s alleged sex trafficking ring.
“The FBI is investigating the incident,” said the bureau.
The BOP statement said that the disgraced financier, who was charged last month with trafficking girls for sex, was found unresponsive in his cell around 6:30 a.m. Saturday.

The very first time I saw Al Gore was as he was walking up a pier towards a camera. The reporter was actually providing the first look at the just-announced VP on the Democrat ticket.

There are at least a couple of ways to fake a heart attack. I’ve run across them simply by watching TV. And I’m no expert on that. One 16 year old girl did that to daddy. You’ll be happy to know she’s out on the streets again under some (unknown) new name. Sleep well.
Now I can’t say that’s what happened to Scalia, but once again, Podesta’s email seems to foreshadow (coughSethRichcough). Pretty amazing.
I ran into a local cop at couple of years ago at a big store. We were talking about guns. I told him about the first line. He asked how. I told him. These things are not something off the shelf but they are available.
I won’t mention them lest it give anyone ideas. Not in FReepmail either so no one bother asking. One of them is not exactly a secret per se, but there’s no reason to help someone along (who knows who may be lurking). But then, medical personnel would already know one. Which is why access is supposedly restricted.
BTW, the police officer had no idea what “SWATting” was. I told him to watch out for it. He told me he had never heard the term.

While that is generally true, in this particular case Barr was undoubtedly aware of the high profile nature of this case and the potential for political fallout and/or negative publicity for his own agency should something go awry, as it did. All the more reason, especially in view of the agency’s recent travails, to proactively protect your agency’s image. If an administrator is not going to do that then what is he/she there for?
Not making excuses for him but I think Barr is primarily a lawyer, not a manager. Sometimes circumstances call for executives to get involved in operational matters, especially when the agency’s reputation is at stake. I think Barr was probably too focused on purely legal issues to do his real job of running an agency.

The issue is that the FBI and parent DOJ have so squandered whatever credibility they ever had.
NOBODY believes anything they say and NOBODY believes they are acting only according to law.
And everyone believes them to be a political operation.
The singular means by which to be seen as credible is to arrest and prosecute aggressively those who conspired with foreign governments to to destroy a major party candidate, and to overthrow the legal will of the American people.
It’s the only path forward for the White Hats.

Exactly. Not a smidgeon of credibility anymore. Like everything else liberalism touches....the FIB has been destroyed. I wouldn’t give one of em the time of day, Instead, I’d just plead the 5th no matter the question. Until the PIAPS is in prison, there is NO rule of law in this country. NONE.
