That must not like to live that free because they’ve gone for the dem in 7 or the last 8 presidential elections.
And the dems didn’t MAGICALLY get power there either.
They don’t sound very independent minded to me.
They’re trying to do something now, but their voter registration laws were criminally lax. People from Mass, whose vote didn’t matter in that deep-blue state, would be bused over to NH, sign a simple form saying that they may move to NH, at some point, vote in NH (and vote Democrat, of course), and then take the buses back to Mass.
They’ve likely thrown some of the elections in that state, as it is very purple (thanks to having some suburbs of Boston).
The local NHians are outnumbered by the Massachusians who have infested the lower half of the state with their Boston bedrooms.
They didn’t go dem by much, and it’s the cities in southern NH that have swayed the vote.
Sununu also vetoed an attempt to back door in an income tax.
They also passed vote reform that now does not aloow out of staters to vote in their elections.
They have a bad old law that allowed college students to vote and they closed that loophole.
Every office in NH is up for reelection every two years, and most of the positions are not paid and the ones that are are just a modicum of a stipend.
We’ll see what happens with 2020. NH has a tendency to vacillate between dem and republican.
