So are we all going to NOT vote for Trump because TODAY we have Swatting going on all over America? Note I don’t want new Red Flag laws either.
My guess is that the hunters, who are the true bad guys, are a bunch of Thurston Moore type snooty corporatists. The protagonists are a bunch of red state hicks who ignorantly but loyally vote conservative and perhaps love a Trump-like president. They are of course crude sexists but are led by a strong and enterprising woman in their group to overcome the corporatists. In the end they manage to turn the hunters into the hunted.
They also achieve political enlightenment along the way, coming to realize that their true enemy -- the true elites -- are the right-wing corporatists and red party bigwigs who manipulate and use them against their own interests.
In other words, it's the theme of the book What's the Matter with Kansas set in movie form.
I’ll be voting for Trump regardless of what laws are instituted.....to consider otherwise would be the loss of our sovereignty and everything we see the dems doing against Trump now we’ll be their targets in every sense of that word. They have said as much.
We deplorables will NOT be disarmed. Any attempt to do so will trigger another “Lexington/Concord” moment. The left is seriously fooling themselves if they think any other outcome is possible.
Don't be ridiculous. Any conservative gun owner knows that if he/she is disarmed without resistance, that the raping and imprisonment will happen anyway. Anyone who thinks otherwise if a fool.
Thanks. I did not know the winners.
The Purge films are very popular with the Anitifa crowd who have internalized some of the philosophy of the Purge and seem eager to live out Purge type violence in the real world. Antifa is already eager commit violence against Deplorables and this movie may not help matters
On the other hand, hope this movie serves as a warning to normal people because its closer to reality than is comfortable
I saw the trailer before I heard all this political stuff. All I saw was the common feminist trope of an ass kicking female being needed because men are incompetent putzes, pretty much the same thing TV and movies commonly demonstrates. I saw it as Hostel without the sexual angles.
I won’t watch it, but I thought the conservative media sources were making it up when the Deplorable angle first came out, and I’m not sure that isn’t being done to hype the movie.
They are fooling themselves - and they will continue to redouble their efforts regardless of the consequences.
Plan accordingly.
The liberals need a video game in which they kill deplorables. Probably already exists.
That would make a helluva campaign ad.
You could even do the same ad and just put at the end:
Think Red Flag laws are such a good idea now?
Maybe someone with the skillset of Bon mots.
Knowing that liberal elites use blacks as vehicles to express their hatred of white working class people, I'm going to assume the violence in a black film by a white producer is designed to gin up gratitude for white liberal elites - and to gin up hatred of white working people. A black marxist director would push hatred of rich 'plantation owners' and some understanding or working class whites. I'm talking trends not 'always' happens.
We can do it, too.
Sounds like how you interpret the film depends on how you want to portray the motivations of the people making it, not on anything objective.
LINK To Quote From “The Hunt”:
“But the elites master plan is about to be derailed because one of the hunted, Crystal, knows The Hunters game better than they do. She turns the tables on the killers, picking them off, one by one, as she makes her way toward the mysterious woman at the center of it all, the description added.”
No, it means the left loves easily killing people they don't like.
I DOESN'T mean they actually like to FIGHT.
You think people making movies are unaware of the emotional effect the movie’s going to have? And the effect they want it to have?
That said, this sort of movie (I won't grace it with the term "film") is still a bad, bad idea. And most people, even those in the media biz, know this and understand this, otherwise they wouldn't be scrambling to do damage control by pulling advertisements and the like.
No, but I think if I apply the logic you originally used to the movie “Get Out”, then I would have to conclude that the black writer/director wanted to glorify torturing and enslaving black people, which is ludicrous. If your logic achieves such ludicrous results when applied objectively, then something is wrong with it.
That’s probably why you reverted to the subjective “I know it when I see it” standard in the next post. Subjective standards, though, are pretty much useless, since opinions are like a certain part of our anatomy, everyone has one.
