Orange County, long a Republican stronghold, has officially turned blue.
The county that nurtured Ronald Reagans conservatism and is the resting place of Richard Nixon is now home to 547,458 registered Democrats, compared with 547,369 Republicans, according to statistics released early Wednesday morning by the county Registrar of Voters. The number of voters not aligned with a political party has also surged in recent years, and stands at 440,711, or 27.4% of the countys voters.
Democratic leaders attributed the shift to changing demographics, aggressive recruitment efforts and President Trump.

Yea who would want 55 electoral votes anyway.....massive natural resources....... deep water ports.......Might as well just let CA succeed and go back to Mexico......
I didnt say secede. My point is, with democrats holding nearly a 3-1 advantage out there, battles for states should be chosen wisely. Three presidential elections have been won since 2000 without CAs electoral votes.
Was this article written to further celebrate CA’s slide into oblivion?
The issue not mentioned, is that the Democrats do get people to register. They don’t get them to show up.
Republicans seek out registration and follow through.
If registrations were the telling factor, we’d never get a Republican president.
In California the registrations are massively imbalanced, but the election day results are nowhere near as imbalanced.
California isn’t as out of reach as folks think. We haven’t had a presidential contender show up in California since 1996. Then we lament how bad California is.
You could have a dealership with 1000 great cars at $100 each, but if the public never heard about it, you wouldn’t sell any.
Conservatism is a great product. Why isn’t our team selling it?
“What exactly would be gained by pissing away valuable campaign $$$ by entertaining false hopes of winning back conquered territory? The dems have a 2.5-1 advantage there.”
Retreat much? What other part of the country should we give up on?
If we campaign in California then the leftists have to campaign and spend money in California and not Florida, Texas, Montana, Georgia, etc.
I'll answer that one with a question: When is the last time a GOP Presidential nominee campaigned in NY, WA, OR, VT, MA, etc? Those areas, like CA, have long been recognized as deep blue. An exception to that might be making appearances on behalf of candidates in competitive lower-ticket races.
The fact that no patriot is fighting to win in “NY, WA, OR, VT, MA, etc” is a damned shame, leaving behind good Americans to be brutalized by socialism. Anyone who pushes for defeat should just go over to the other side because they have already surrendered.
All we need in CA is some serious investigations into voter fraud, and you will see that 3/1 evaporate fairly quickly. And can you imagine if the Republicans did get those 55 electoral votes?
But yet, here we are, with the republicans doing NOTHING in the state of CA. Almost like they want the dems to have it.
How many of them are dead?
