IF the red flag laws pass, it won’t really matter WHO is president.

Unless you think Trump will personally pay for your defense when your lib neighbor reports you for a threat?

So you have no problem with guilty until proven innocent? Because that is Red Flag laws. You have no problem with people being forced to prove they are not crazy. Forcing innocent people to pay thousands in legal and medical fees to get their 2nd Amendment fights back. Confiscation of private property under the law when you have not committed a crime. Due Process what due process, the moment they take your weapons due process went out the window. Welcome to a totalitarian state.

That wasn’t an EO, that was stuffed into the otherwise-good Firearm Owners Protection Act as a last-minute attempt to derail the bill.

I’m pretty sure that any “red flag laws” are up to the individual states to make/pass or not-not the fed-states rights. The Supremes would likely overturn that overreach...

I’d rather see people who are dangerously crazy committed to a psych facility instead of sitting at home visiting dark web/terrorist sites planning terror and murder while strung out on every prescription drug from Adderal and Welbutrin to Thorazine and Mellaril...

...“A petition must also… be signed and sworn to by the petitioner under penalty of perjury,” the law reads.

Every statement in every divorce must be sworn to under the same wording.

It is honored more in the breach than in the observance...

And that is only the first time, after you do all that you are not off the hook. Someone can do all over again a week later. It will become perpetual and you will NEVER be in the clear.

You are overlooking the fact that those who were polled understood that Trump will pass the red coat law. So at that point, the law is a certainty, not a “If you don’t vote for Trump it will pass”.

The red coat law will lead to the total destruction of our freedom and therefore our country as it exists today. So once it is passed it will matter not who is in office.

Like the Patriot Act, only even more insidious, it will be used against those who never thought it would matter to them.

Already we are realizing that all veterans are at risk. Any veteran who has a service or “comfort” dog, who uses the weed or gets drunk, who has a divorce or a dispute with his neighbor.....

The dims are accusing the President of being a mental case. But you think it can’t happen to you?

“You”, meaning the population in general, not you personally.

Target practice annoying your neighbor and you ignore his complaint....guess what he will do.

What needs to be done is to create a means where a family member or a person close to someone who needs help can go to an organization, not law enforcement, and get help. If the organization after investigating the person believed to be a mental problem determines that he is indeed a threat to society, then that organization would determine a proper course of action.

And of course there would need to be facilities devoted to mental health including long term care.

Approaching the problem this way would prevent the jilted girl friend, the ex-wife, the ass neighbor and the over zealous cop from messing up the life of an innocent person.

And this organization, the “American Firearms Coalition,” has only 213 subscribers on its YouTube channel:

This is made up “news!”

I thought all they could do is encourage States to adopt them. Enhanced background checks is a big no with me. I’m contacting my senators to vote no on both.

In any event, I’ll take Trump over any Democrat.

Anyone who has ever been through divorce court will tell you how wonderful a safety net that is.

It is a joke.

Understand how people vote. We have our issues we support. Trump appealed to gun owners in States like Wisconsin. They will not be thinking about judges or the wall or illegals they will see the most draconian anti gun law ever signed into law by Trump. They will not vote for him. Other people take a broader perspective and they will hold their nose and vote Trump. But every swing state has a lot of hunters, shooters and CCW holders. How many can Trump afford to lose? For me I see it this way, if he is willing to sign during his first term a law that takes away an individuals rights and only applies due process after the fact, I do not trust what he will do when not up for re-election

In a country largely filled with sane people and trustworthy government, some sort of “red flag” provision for law enforcement to defuse imminent attacks makes sense. It’s also probably largely unnecessary.

In a country where zealots, includong elected members of the House of Representatives and the campaign chair of a presidential candidate cheer on the intimidation and threatening of private citizens for daring to support a political opponents, it’s just handing those zealots another tool to intimidate and attack their political opponents.

None of this gets any better until the radicals stop hating people who voted for Trump more than that love their own children no matter what law you pass.
