One reason is they remember Merrick Garland and know he’s been getting Trump’s judges confirmed.

Because Mitch has been good on one issue, just one, but it's a big one: judges. The dems (i believe) plan to have Ruth Bader Ginsberg announce her retirement at the start of 2020. Then they can make the election about who gets to pick her replacement (since the SCOTUS are our true overlords, that will energize the left mightily). Mitch had previously refused to consider nomination from Obama in an election year so Merrick Garland is not on the court and Neil Gorsuch is. The left is starting to lay a game of intimidation and threats to make sure Mitch is scared to do anything different this time.
