Kevin Cernekee, a former Google engineer who told several media outlets that he was fired for being an outspoken conservative, had a history of defending white nationalist ideals and organizations, according to a lengthy internal email posted by another conservative employee in 2018.
However, Cernekee denies he agrees with alt-right viewpoints, and says he was simply being smeared for being an advocate of free speech.
Mike Wacker, a Google employee who describes himself as a conservative, claimed Cernekee led conversations that defended white nationalism and garnered a band of followers internally. Wackers message, which was initially sent to an internal mailing list for Republican Googlers in 2018 and forwarded to CNBC, shows that even some conservative employees have been at odds with the far-right conservatives within the company. The Daily Caller reported on the Cernekees internal messages Monday night...
In a statement to CNBC, Cernekee called Wackers memo false and baseless smears from a jealous and vindictive ex-colleague and claimed that he always supported free speech and opposed white nationalism. He says he was routinely and unfairly labeled as Alt-Right because he spoke out against violence against Spencer, who was punched in the face at a rally in January 2017, and others.

Not sure what to think.
Google thinks that if you don’t support their use of violence, then you are as bad as the people they use violence against.
Anyone can claim to be anything.
We know that Google is censoring conservatives. Is Wacker likely to be part of the Google censor machine?
Can you say,”1984”?
Can you say,1984?
Can you say “defamation lawsuit?”
My first thought is that the accusation is a smear, like calling someone a kulak, or a running dog capitalist, or a Jew lover. The American left now has a phrase with which to hang everyone who disagrees with them.
Nothing wrong with the Alt Right. The Alt Left are causing all the problems.
True that. This is a pretty perfect narrative for Google.
One of my persistent worries is that the alt-right will one day cause some sort of controversy at Google, but the right will end up taking the blame for their actions.
My FIRST question was “What EXACTLY did this guy say?”
Is he some wackjob alt right Nazi?
HARDLY!
Here is what he said that got him fired AND his response to accusations against him.
VERY enlightening. He is an anti-violent, free speech advocate. His views are being distorted and misinterpreted.
Make sure you read his recent response at the end.
Well worth your time. If you want to know the TRUTH.
Google could have planted him too, or the guy is a Conservative like Stevens, Souter, Bush family, Comey, Mueller, etc. who know how to please their leftist overlords.
“...message, which was initially sent to an internal mailing list for Republican Googlers in 2018...”
Why does a huge corporation have internal mailing lists for employees in different political parties?
What do these employees do wherein they can waste their time on superfluous activity?
Alt-Right is the derogatory term for traditional Americans
So being white and a nationalist is not allowed anymore? Or is that just an white American nationalist? How about a white Swiss nationalist? White Australian nationalist? Maybe a white Canadian nationalist? Polish? French? German? Belgian? Irish? Perhaps Icelandic nationalist?
Are we evil because we are white? Or because we love and loyally put our own country before all others? Combination of both? All three? White, American and nationalist? Which “offends” the most?
It would be really interesting to ask the Dem candidates to define a few of these phrases and terms being recklessly thrown around these days.
Looks like you are correct.
“Can you say defamation lawsuit?
With a liberal woke judge hearing it?
a “conservative” by google’s standards. Likely a center-left Biden type.
And even if not, sounds like this guy was labeled alt-right for simply suggesting that *maybe* Richard Spencer doesn’t deserve to be assaulted in broad daylight by every leftist he runs into.
As someone who has stood across from Westboro Baptist scum, Code Pink tools, MoveOn.org a-holes, and Veterans For Peace dipsticks, I hate having to abide by my principles of freedom of speech and freedom of association, but if one has any principles, it is an odius end of a wonderful principle one must hold aloft.
It disturbed me a great deal to see their messages with my own eyes and do nothing more than exercise my own rights to stand in a public area and oppose them, but...that is why conservatism is the heart and soul of this country and what it was founded on.
And that is why Leftism is a poisonous, corrosive cancer that is trying to destroy this country.
As conservatives, we practice self control, and on the Left, they practice a lack of self-control which results in violence.
I am sick to damned death of hearing "Oh, we have violence on both sides..."
No. We have occasional people who have nothing to do with conservatism who act out and commit violence, but that is far, FAR fewer than those on the left who murder, assault, and vilify people in the name of their ideology along with the tacit approval of many on the left (see the excerpt above where Nazis DESERVE to be punched) who approve of their actions.
Read his rebuttal, and think of how reasonable and in line with the Constitution that sounds, then ponder the shrieking Leftists in and out of the media who condemn him as evil incarnate, vermin worthy of being squashed.
And then think about how they view those of us who read his rebuttal and agree with it. And what they would do to us if given the chance.
