El Paso, Dayton... and almost Lubbock?
Lubbock is one of the most conservative cities in Texas, and the United States. If these mass shootings are planned by the Deep State, and he killed some people, even if a good guy with a gun stopped him, it would manifest their power. There may be a game plan here. Supposedly, the El Paso incident was done by a white racist and conspiracist, and the Dayton shooting was done by a white leftist and Bernie Sanders fan. If you had a mass killing by a black man, the argument for comprehensive gun control is strengthened, giving RINO types like Romney, Snowe, and Murkowski cover for gun control. Additionally, Trump, a New Yorker, is new to Second Amendment matters. Handguns have been effectively banned there for those who lack political connections for a century. He could be persuaded to support “sensible” gun control. But my feeling is that Trump would resist his background and veto it.
