White supremacy

Control of the Internet

Red flag laws

Death penalty for hate crimes which we all know can only be committed by white people

Must stop racism and bigotry. Again only whites can be racist or bigoted

Must keep guns out of the hands of people who meet the abovementioned requirements as defined and adjudicated by the courts and government officials. What could go wrong there?

Mentioned the ‘racist’ manifesto, but nothing about the anti corporation and socialist rhetoric or the fact that the Dayton shooter is a full fledged Antifa wannabe.

And will work in a bipartisan way to achieve these goals. As we all know this means signing off on the democrat wish list because that’s the only bipartisanship the Left accepts.

Not sure why any Leftist commentator would have a problem with this speech. It could have been given by O’Bama, Hillary, AOC or any of the those on the CNN stage the other night. If he does half of what it said in that speech he is toast. The only way he was likely to lose in 2020 was to abandon or piss of his base and he’s working on it. All the Trump apologist have at it, where am I wrong? What did I misunderstand or miss?

ok I didn’t hear the speech. I am going by comments on it here. I shouldn’t have done that. Some people here exaggerate Trump as badly as the MSM but in a different way.
So I apologize.

Still not every tragedy deserves a comment, particularly when the MSM is demanding you make one.

Most Red Flag laws to date say that the word of one person given to a judge, and without hearing from the gun owner to either defend himself or challenge the veracity of the complaint or complainer, is sufficient to seize all firearms, by force. No mental health evaluations, no criminal checks, no interviews with the gun owner or his lawyers. And no guarantee his weapons will be properly stored.

Some laws don’t even require a judge to sign off, just a police complaint. The lawful gun owner is stuck paying huge legal bills in challenging the order and getting his weapons back, all on the word of one person.

You got it exactly correct. We cannot let the fact that Trump is “our guy” cloud our judgment. Red flag laws are very bad news for our 2nd Amendment liberties.

Should we take away their guns before they hurt someone?

Perfect comment!

Yup. All them gun lovers are potential mass shooting perps. Never can be sure when they’ll snap.

There is something strange about that Diplomat Room.
Whenever PDJT speaks there, he gets cotton mouth like he hasn’t had a drink of water for a long time.

Sad to hear him say “White Supremacy.”
Suspect Ivanka and Jared had too much influence in crafting these remarks.

Moreover, the gestures toward bipartisanship are futile.
All the RATS want to do is restrict guns for law-abiding citizens.

I still maintain that a large part of the answer revolves around bringing back God to our schoolchildren, so that they have some moral sense of right and wrong.

Heard that POTUS will be going to Toledo and El Paso on Wednesday (CSPAN put up a tweet from the FAA, which indicated that clearances were made for AF1 travel).
Hopefully, today’s speech is not the last word.

The 5 stages are an accurate depiction of psychological pathology. While there are various degrees of adaptation through the cycle(s), people must first confront denial, regardless of other factors.

Perhaps the easiest way to explain self evident truth it to examine an underlining fact pattern. It is a fact that Trump was/is attracted to media attention. It is a fact that Trump could be accurately described as an egoist. And it is also a fact that Trump has a commanding grasp of media and marketing.

If we consider just those elements alone, then Trump it's safe to say ran for the presidency to satisfy his own narcissistic impulses. Nothing more, nothing less. Now, were it gets interesting is which party base was he going to appeal to? And once that was determined, then certain key worlds, phrases and political sentiment could be expressed to rally support for that platform. Which is why Trump ran under the GOP banner instead of DNC.

But is this to imply that Trump has any firm philosophical convictions? Not at all - if his primary objective is to be president just to be president, then what we have on our hands is not a champion of the people, but a self absorbed artifact. And if that's the case, then we can comfortably conclude that not only is Trump not going attack the deep state, but will accede to their demands in order to continue his personal quest of remaining president.

What you and I are pointing out will be met with resistance by those still enamored by the original message. But even a cursory review of Trump's history to date, including his recent messaging to the deep state/left, may hopefully shed more light for his base of supporters who are having difficulty moving past the 'denial' stage.

I grew up in the 50s and 60s. We played cowboys and Indians. When I was 12 I got a .22 rifle. Every boy I knew had a .22. My father taught me how to shoot it. We had gun safety classes in grade school. We also said the pledge and could pray in school. Growing up I never heard of a mass shooter except Charles Whitman who shot 17 people from that tower at the Univ of Texas. Now we have them all the time.

One of the worst outcomes may be that through his rhetoric he has given those like me and possibly you the belief that we can finally say the things we have been careful not to say for years. Not hateful, racist things just common sense things about the state of the nation and it’s culture. At first this threw the media and the Left for a loop. They were not used to us speaking our minds openly, but they have regained their footing and launched a full counter attack culminating with the white terrorist meme. I fully expect that in my lifetime, and I’m 68, whites will be purged form the public square and will be wearing white stars on their clothes. If the start building new railroads and buying new rolling stock get very worried.

Most Red Flag laws to date say that...

The Colorado Red Flag law permits anonymous complaints and allows the identity of the complaining party to remain concealed. The subject of the order is not permitted any notification or hearing prior to confiscation of weapons.

There are no objective rules for appealing a Red Flag order and the seizure of firearms can be continued indefinitely with a one-year renewal order. I do not expect there will ever be any successful appeals if this "law" is allowed to stand.

Subsequent acquisition or possession of a firearm by the subject of a Red Flag order can be prosecuted as a felony - which enables a lifetime ban on possession of firearms.

I would expect first use of this "law" to be against an abusive husband with a photogenic soon-to-be ex-wife and small children. Second use will be against somebody's "crazy Uncle" - to the great relief of "concerned" relatives and acquaintances. Those stories will get extensive and favorable press coverage.

Later use will be based on vindictive women directing complaints against ex-boyfriends (or ex-girlfriends) after a breakup. Those won't get so much publicity. But the orders will be granted.

With enough precedents established, the third round of confiscations will be targeted at high-profile political activists who support the 2nd Amendment. Or simply persons who are vocal opponents of the current Democrats in power.
