Whitley Strieber wrote a novel some years ago, “Nature’s End: the consequences of the twentieth century”. VERY dystopic, what you’ve gotten used to seeing in movies like Soylent Green and read about in every novel about the future for the past 4-50 years it seems.
Key thing I got from the story was about a global mass-SUICIDE movement.
Strieber got it wrong.
It’s mass-homicide, not lemming behavior, and it’s multifactorial, having absofreakinglutely NOTHING to do with guns.
Timothy McVey used ANFO. ‘slims use trucks and airplanes. Om Shin Rikyu made sarin and used it in the Tokyo subway.
Weapons of mass distruction are easy enough to be mfd by someone with the evil genius to USE them.
When all else fails, firebombs are VERY easy to make, but hardly anyone uses them anywhere this way - mass murderers may be crazy, but they’re generally not very stupid. NO one likes the idea of being burned alive.
