I don’t understand the push for gun control when the underlying problem is that America doesn’t place holy value on life anymore. As a culture, we don’t raise our boys to protect and defend at any cost, nor are we teaching our girls to embrace their nurturing nature. Yelling gun control is going to continue to be fruitless because guns are not the problem.

*A heartfelt thank you to those who do raise their children up to cherish life.

The one thing we do know is that governments kills by the millions. They will never get our guns.

I think, at its root, it's all about the left's view of the individual as property of the state. It's really not unlike the old concept of poaching a deer in the king's forest. The king really didn't give a sh!t about wildlife management or principles of conservation; you simply didn't kill a deer because it belonged to the king.

The left holds that government has the monopoly on violence to be used at its discretion (and whim). They reap all kinds of collateral benefits from this. When people are forbidden the right to self-defense, they become entirely dependent on the state for their protection. When people are forbidden the means to resist the state, the state becomes more secure, and the people, less so. Over time, the state develops the ability to visit violence upon any opposition without question.

When amending the constitution, our founders saw fit to write the first two amendments to prohibit a government monopoly on the truth and on the use of force. This is precisely why the left is hell-bent on the destruction of the first and second amendments.
