Amen brother. Bumped into a Nam vet just a day or so ago with a Nam cap on. Asked when he was there he said 1969-70 (I was there in 70 till I got hit and did 4 months-plus in hospitals in Nam, Yocahoma (??), Japan, and Martin Army Hospital at Benning) and I told him welcome home and he stopped and came back an we shook hands. He said very few people told him that. I told him the same.

My wife and I got married after I retired from the Army (I was a single dad of two daughters for 11 years on AD) and she still cannot understand "how mean people were to military people coming back from Nam." I told her I was called baby killer and spit at in the Atlanta airport by some young hippy type punk. I was ready to smash his face in but thankfully a decent Cop came over, had seen it, and said: "go ahead Sarge, I'll deal with this punk," as he slammed his butt against a wall and started to do a very hard frisk on his balls!!!

I told her it was the anti-war crap. The stinking dims of that day were good at being anti-war at the same time they had a president who pushed it, picking out the bombing targets and not allowing commanders to fight the war. That is what I liked about Storming Norman, telling daddy Bush that Bush needed to tell them what he wanted done, then get his butt out of the way and letting him do it. Thankfully, we have a guy in there now that will do, I think, what needs to be done if it comes to it. I am sick of our people being kicked around by stupid politicians and punks.

Fyi, I was spit upon & had “blood” thrown onto my brand new TW uniform (that I had bought to come home in) at LAX in 1972, on return to CONUS. = At least 2-3 police saw what was done & said NOTHING. - Instead, they just stood there.
(I got to ride all the way to Dallas in a wet/”bloody” uniform, as all my luggage was already loaded on the plane for the trip to Texas. = Even our local cleaners could NOT “get the red out”. = Fwiw, a “guy on the plane” said, “Your uniform is really messed-up, don’t you think, Boy?” - What I said, under my breath, is UNPRINTABLE.)

Yours, TMN78247
