Remember when voters paid no attention to such appointments and couldn’t name any of them? Now everyone thinks they have to micromanage everything.

You make it sound like the voters paying attention is a bad thing.

The voters paying no attention is how we got Coats and all the other Deep Staters before him.

I’d rather have Ratcliffe in the House too. I don’t understand the hysteria with others here. There are a lot of other people besides Ratcliffe qualified for the DNI posting and it would be likely more difficult replacing Ratcliffe in the House.

I prefer to see the upside.

Agree.

Nothing but UPSIDE, here.

“Well, casualties do happen when you try to take on a deeply entrenched political establishment that has the full support of...at least half of the population of a nation.”

Why do people presume that? Only a quarter of the population votes for the forces of evil, and of that quarter a substantial number of voters are dead, fictional, or otherwise ineligible to vote.

How does that become “at least half the population?”

I’d say it’s primarily Cocaine Mitch blocking Ratcliffe ‘cuz he’s not a Deep State stooge like Coates.

There were a few Cruz zealots around even after the election that hung around a month or two but they were either won over or moved on. Now none!

OK...if you want to get ridiculously anal...half the voting population. However it occurs, most of Congress and most of the Senate got there by winning elections. The people that vote put them there. And are keeping them there for, in most cases, decades. No one is getting thrown out by the voters, so that “quarter” of yours is doing yeoman’s work. They’re beating everyone else put together, that’s blatantly obvious.

The Deplorables don’t have a Media or a Deep State, so if the Rats get back in power, this kind of meddling will have to be accomplished from the rooftops.

The FBI Report on Extremist Domestic TErrorism lists QAnon as a Political Fringe Conspiracy Group. They list a NUMBER Of violent acts carried out by Q believers in support of the Q beliefs.

While I dont usually credit the FBI with much credibility the fact that they have distributed their report to all law enforcement nationwide should be concerning to you all. No doubt they began working on this report when QAnon was more popular and their members did not hesitate to make threats to hunt down and harm non believers. Since the ranks of the believers have significantly diminished, both in general and here on FR, as the many q predictions have repeatedly failed to come to pass, the number of threats have diminished accordingly as social media sites ban and quarantine the anon activity. It would be reasonable to assume as a result of the FBI report that more q anon sites will become persona non grata.

Regrettably the danger to Free Speech is impacted whenever a particular speech is restricted so the FBI report is a two edged sword. I guess the moral of the story is: believe what you want but knock off the antagonistic conduct lest you become a target of a large and unforgiving and frequently wrong central govt.

I dont mean Freeeprs that supported someone other than trump.

A Never Trumper is someone who hates trump and spends all his time badmouthing trump and every single action trump takes.

Examples we know about are bill kristol, ben shapiro, nicole wallace, schmidt, mccains, et al

Because you can map the vicissitudes of FR editorial policy by noting those who have been banned/quit over the years. And this lack of consistency isn't necessarily a bad thing; consider how difficult it is to break into the news & entertainment industry. Now increase that hurdle by orders of magnitude to establish a long-term media property.

On that standard alone, JR has set some kind of longevity record. But, he/it must still be adaptable (to a certain extent) to match conservative thought, sentiment and opinion. So, while on the topic of holding participant/reader interest, is anyone else tremendously bored (and amused) by the ongoing faith based expressions of devotion to mysterious 'sky friends'?

How about we take an opposite tack, and begin analyzing, in a post-deconstructionist manner, what, how, why things went wrong? Who ultimate led the conspiracy to kill the republic? Why did they do it? Was it just blind ambition, a quest for power, or perhaps larger scale, more noble purposes? And in so doing, maybe we can create a body of contemporary accounts that might lead to future generations gaining a better (strategic/tactical) understanding? To use a WWII analogy, the battle of France is over - we lost. But the battle of Britain could be over the horizon.

We should use our understanding to reach through the future to help inform those who might yet take up the banner again.
