Usually all I ever see are signs (not banners, really) supporting the team or favorite players. Frankly, I'd rather not see political banners at MLB games, even if I agree with the sentiment. Political BS has already ruined the NFL for me.
Is that against the stadium, team, or MLB rules?
Like I said someone would have to unfurl a liberal political banner to find out.
Some kids got escorted from a Pirates game for wearing t-shirts that criticized owner Bob Nutting for being cheap.
Later the team apologized and said they should not have done that.
Spot on!
It kind of reminds me when the British used to call problems in Belfast in the 1970’s “The Troubles”.
Baltimore is starting to resemble Belfast in the 1970’s.
Bought and payed for by us Maryland taxpayers.
Yep.
All political stuff should be banned. Making everything political is a Leftist tactic.
Lifetime 3.34. Pretty damn good, and wouldve been a whole lot lower had he retired after 20 years instead of pushing it to a ridiculous 26.
Had an ERA Under 3 for eight of his 26 seasons.
Before, during and after Baltimores professional sports games and other big events, there is massive law enforcement presence.
Well said!
At some point in the season (he had many) he must have had a 3.16 ERA because it is sure well advertised.
He was excellent for the first 9 years after the surgery. The next 9, not so much.
The thing I wondered about is, the policy says your banner can be confiscated, and I’m OK with that, it’s their park, and their rules; but the article says they were ejected. Was that because they fought against the confiscation, or was that retaliation for the message?
I got in trouble at a Red Sox/Mariners game when I held a Red Sox jersey over in front of the section I was sitting in. It wasn’t obstructing but I was told to bring it back up and put it away. lol I did so.
Fair point that Camden Yards may be technically owned by an entity of the state government, but the Orioles have a 30 year lease for its use (through 2022). I’m sure that lease gives the Orioles authority to establish rules as to who gets in (you have to have a ticket to get in) and rules of conduct. Otherwise, if it were public property, one would arguably have a right to get in without a ticket (similar to owners of cabins on land leased from the federal Forest Service; they have the right to eject others from the cabin or leased land). I’m a retired lawyer and dealt for years with issues such as whether picketers/handbillers have a right to have access to private property such as shopping centers and factory parking lots to communicate with either employees of employers on the premises or with the public in general.
