Roger Stone loses bid to get indictment scrapped: 'No one but himself to blame'

A federal judge on Thursday rejected four motions from former Trump associate Roger Stone contesting his indictment on obstruction of justice, witness tampering and other charges, adding that Stone has “no one but himself to blame” for having to stand trial in November.

Stone was accused of obstruction of justice, witness tampering and lying to Congress under oath in an effort to mislead the House Intelligence Committee and the FBI about alleged dealings with WikiLeaks during the 2016 presidential election, Politico reported.

Stone filed four motions to have his indictment scrapped, arguing that he was unfairly singled out during former Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election due to his outspoken support for President Trump.

How can he be guilty of obstructing the investigation into a crime that didn’t happen?

The entire justice system appears to just be a game that only insiders escape. If anything brings, down the country, it will be that.

lying to Congress under oath

When the corrupt feebs and deepstaters do the same thing, it's just called "lack of candor", and there are no consequences.

I don’t understand where the presumption of innocence has gone in this country. He hasn’t gone on trial but he’s accused of lying and has only himself to blame for being indicted? Who says he’s lying? That’s not for a judge to determine. I love all these people testifying before the congressional hearings and one lies and they bring in someone else to say something different therefore, the first guy was lying and oddly, never the second guy. Depends on which party is the majority on the panel at the time, I guess.

“lying to Congress under oath”

They lie to us all the time.

Why would anyone ever talk to a federal agent, whether witness or target? He apparently gave hours of interviews to the Mueller team and exposed himself to making incorrect statements which will be considered to be intentional and felonious lies unless you have deep state protective status.

We really need to engage in civil disobedience while we still can and stop cooperating with federal agents and federal DOJ in general. Refuse to talk to them, refuse to accept their evidence as valid in court, and tell others to do the same.

If true then it was pretty stupid on his part, wasn't it? Tampering with witnesses in a case that would have fallen apart anyway?

Yet, Comey gets off scot Free on his lying crimes.

I’m waiting for when we start to impeach federal judges who violate their oath of office. Just how many have knowingly and grossly exceeded their Article 3 powers for political purposes?

Of course the Stone trial will go on; it’s called the Deep State for a reason. It’s deeply entrenched. The Bureau makes a televised, over-the-top raid on Roger Stone’s house, but quietly does a knock, talk and search of Comey’s house that we only recently learned of. Our “justice” system is a complete and utter joke and the Russian oligarchy has nothing on ours.

Amy Berman Jackson.

On June 17, 2010, President Obama nominated Jackson to fill a vacant seat on the United States District Court for the District of Columbia that was created by the transition to senior status in 2007 by Judge Gladys Kessler.

Her nomination lapsed at the end of 2010, but Obama renominated her on January 5, 2011. The United States Senate confirmed Jackson in a 97–0 vote on March 17, 2011.

She received her commission the next day.

“When he chose to take credit for the WikiLeaks release and to tantalize the public with hints that he had inside information about more to come, he chose to place himself directly in the vortex of the issues that became the focus of multiple law enforcement, counterintelligence, and congressional investigations,” Jackson wrote.

This behavior is NOT CRIMINAL. So why does it factor at all into her decision?

“The judge also noted other Trump associates and family members who were not indicted after Mueller’s investigation despite their very public conservative views and open support for President Trump, Politico reported.”

So not everyone associated with Trump was indicted so Stone’s case isn’t political? Brilliant judicial reasoning there. What a joke.
