Robert F. Kennedy’s granddaughter reportedly died of an apparent drug overdose at the family’s Cape Cod compound on Thursday — the latest in a long line of tragedies to rock the storied family.
Saoirse Kennedy Hill, 22, was staying at the sprawling Hyannis Port, Mass., home of her grandmother, 91-year-old Ethel Kennedy, RFK’s widow.
By the time medics arrived to the Marchant Avenue mansion at about 2:30 p.m., the young Kennedy was already in cardiac arrest, the Hyannis News reported.
She was rushed to Cape Cod Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The New York Times said the suspected cause was an overdose, but an investigation by Barnstable police is ongoing.
The death jolted a family long haunted by tragedy.

Well I try not to judge a whole family by a few of its members. Take the Reagan kids— Ron Jr. and Maureen turned out to be rotgut LIEberals but adopted son Michael is conservative. A total tragedy for this young Kennedy granddaughter to OD.
Wiki cleaned up Michael’s page. There’s no mention of the babysitter though it links to articles of it.

Her father is Paul Hill who was unjustly imprisoned 4 years. . Remember the film about him In the name of the Father.
She is beautiful. Doesn’t look like a Kennedy.
As for the Reagans, Mareen and Michael were conservatives, and Patty and Ron,jr. were liberals. What ever happened to Patty. I heard she was dead.
The girl struggle with mental illness since middle school. That’s when it often surfaces.
I just watched that movie a couple days ago. My 21 year old son wanted to watch it to learn about “the troubles” in Northern Ireland.
At the end of the movie it states that Paul Hill went on to marry a Kennedy daughter. This girl was his daughter.
They stated on the Boston NBC news this morning that she had issues with depression and alluded that she MAY have been molested by a relative.
We will probably never know. Just another incident in a family that has a long history of alcohol and drug addiction problems.
Her name means freedom.
Nothing wrong with honoring her mother with Kennedy as a middle name.

I still think it was his best film. Better than “My Left Foot”, “There will be Blood” or “Lincoln” which he won an Oscar for each.
He is maybe the best actor of our time.
In 2016, she openly wrote about mental illness, battling depression and a suicide attempt while a student at Deerfield Academy. In the article, she also wrote about a sexual assault “after someone I knew and loved broke serious sexual boundaries with me.”
The kennedys are one screwed-up family. I bet their DNA is very defective.
Hmm...at 91 my Mom was still driving, going to club meetings, and doing her own shopping.
Ethel Kennedy ruled their clan with an iron fist after Mother Rose croaked.
IMO there is more afoot than appears.
Therefore I wonder if there will be an autopsy. Those are never performed on Kennedys.
And that actress was wonderful in the film Brooklyn.

She was 22. A college student. She is not responsible for what relatives generations before her did. So dad for her parents. An only child I think.
