"There's a possibility that President Moon MAY make a nationwide televised address after Japan removed South Korea from its preferred list of trading partners, according to media in Seoul"

Trump needs to end WWII before ending the Korean War.
we lob bigger missiles here in Idaho on new years day, than the Norks have been doing. Trump doesn’t care, so I don’t either.
This appears to be a rather significant trade dispute. Does anyone have links to some good, relatively unbiased background?
Well, I wouldn’t trust SK any further than a Democrat these days.
America first.
bttt
The slowdown in China is hitting South Koreas economy really hard.
I don’t understand why this boiled up. I know
they don’t get along and each side has 100 reasons
old and new to hate the other.
But why the sudden change in trade? I can’t figure it out.
That makes no sense. Why would that be? You made that up.
Well, I wouldnt trust SK any further than a Democrat these days.

The similarities are uncanny.
They are good at resorting to mass hysteria, playing victim card.......
People act like “trade” is a religion and the most important damn thing in the world. IT’S NOT.
This makes no sense. A wait and see....
South Korean companies exported a lot to China - their exports to China have taken about the biggest drop, in percentage terms.
About 25% of Koreas exports are to China, and about 80% of them are intermediate products for goods that ultimately end up in the USA (like chips). About 12% of Koreas exports are direct to the USA - so they are in between the US and Chinese economies , about the most of any country. Their economy is also especially dependent on exports of manufactured goods.
When the USA deployed the THAAD missile system to South Korea a few years back, the Chinese Government started retaliating against South Korean businesses in China, like Lotte. The Koreans were the first to really
start pulling out from the Chinese domestic market in force, a couple of
years before the Trump trade war. Now their experience is studied by everyone else who are trying to salvage what they can of their investment capital, as they shift their production elsewhere.
Geographically and economically, whenever China sneezes, Korea catches a cold. They are in a tough exposed position for either a US/China trade war, or a Chinese slowdown, and they are getting both.
This action is part of Korea and Japan still argueing over reparations for WWII - literally.
If true, which I doubt, the I really don’t GAF about S. Korea. They are using us like the rest of the world and we run a huge trade deficits with them. They block our imports with high tariffs and WE STILL DEFEND THEM!! Some thanks we get!! They can all go to hell.
Korea is still mad about the “comfort” women thing.
Two trade abusers fighting each other. Where’s the popcorn?
South Korea is a pretty significant Military power, with the fifth biggest army on earth, and the ability to produce their own main battle tanks, fighter jets, and blue water Naval vessels. They also have a well developed commercial nuclear power industry.
I know, I know, you dont care, screw them all, etc, etc.
China, with its expansionist efforts, has decreased imports from the ROK and Japan, so the ROK and Japan are working against each other while trying to keep their economies going. There will always be some international trade. We should help our closer allies with deals that are favorable to our own interests and decrease trade with countries that are not as friendly.
