The government has announced an extra £2.1bn worth of funding to prepare for a no-deal Brexit - doubling the amount of money it has set aside this year.
The plans include more border force officers and upgrades to transport infrastructure at ports.
There will also be more money to ease traffic congestion in Kent and tackle queues created by delays at the border.
Other measures include money for stockpiling medicines to ensure continued supplies.
There will also be a national programme to help businesses.
"With 92 days until the UK leaves the European Union it's vital that we intensify our planning to ensure we are ready," said Chancellor Sajid Javid, announcing the move.
"We want to get a good deal that abolishes the anti-democratic backstop. But if we can't get a good deal, we'll have to leave without one.
"This additional £2.1bn will ensure we are ready to leave on 31 October - deal or no-deal."
...Some of this boost, however, is a repeat prescription for vital medicine supply - spending tens of millions again on reserving cross-Channel ferry capacity and for specialist warehousing and stockpiling that was not, in the end, required after the last Brexit d...The measures announced by Mr Javid include £344m to be spent on new border and customs operations. All this is designed to mitigate the anticipated freight gridlock around Dover and Calais.

he's putting the 350M to use to spend on new border and customs operations. Also will need to save up for the 1.1 billion
here's to England crashing out by October 31, 2019!
England may have to take the No Deal Brexit as is and alone. Such a move may only be possible by releasing Scotland, Ireland and North Ireland from the Union. The last three seem to be stuck permanently in a Remainer mind set.
Fine, let them stay and get swallowed up in Climate Change rules, taxes and restrictions.
The US threw tea into Boston Harbor, fought British sponsored German mercenaries and crooked British reps from the King for independence and then fought along side British forces in WWI and WW2. If they break with the EU, I would doubt we abandon them. Guess well see in October.
I’m fairly sure we as a country would never fully abandon England. The ties are too strong. Same goes for Israel.
All three countries have a symbiotic need for the others. Of course, the ‘wrong’ American president can change priorities for a while, as Obola (and his PuppetMaster Valerie Garret) tried very hard to do.
True.
err.. Ireland hasn't been a member of the Union since 1920.
This is probably because in the UK England totally dominates with >80% of the population, economy, etc. and until the 1990s all decisions took place in Westminster (pre-devolution). This is in contrast to the other union where no one country has > 25% of population, economy or military
The new Prime Minster Boris Johnson used his first address to Parliament to explicitly back the new net zero emissions target his predecessor set into law in the final few weeks of her premiershipBoris will ensure that the UK becomes a Green country with net zero emissions.

Leaving the EU won't really reduce UK taxes -- as you can see Ireland is part of the EU and pays lower taxes than even the USA
Finally - which restrictions are you talking about?
I don’t know any more about Brexit and Europe to get any more specific. I’m still new to this ‘Study Group’.
I find it all quite interesting, how the UK is at a proverbial fork in the road at this time.
Their fate as a union as yet undecided. The consequence of either choice will resonate for generations.
The UK has gone past the fork in the road. It’s too late to turn back - Brexit WILL happen, the United Kingdom will break up (the latter may take up to 10 years) - this has been building up for decades and it’s too late to put the genie back in the bottle<
