To say there is broad-based confusion is an understatement. The recent reporting by John Solomon of The Hill only makes the confusion worse. Let’s stand back and reconcile two issues (with evidence to support) that are MASSIVELY conflated.
First, go read the full Solomon article. Notice the entire construct of the article surrounds “The Comey Memos“. As you will see, this specific topic is important. Within the Solomon article you will find (emphasis mine):

I believe the guy comey leaked to, who leaked to the press, was a part time FBI contractor.
It seems that comey, by technically keeping the info in house, cleverly avoided breaking the law.
He’s a slippery bastard. Wonder if he was as careful with his FISA crimes.

Comey is a world class lawyer and clearly violated the law - no question. You’re saying he did not intend to violate the law.
How exactly do you, as a world class lawyer, go out and violate the law and not intend to?

Dream on. Barr’s DOJ has declined to prosecute him. Maybe Comey is ratting out the chain of coup plotters. Comey seems like the snitch rat type to me.

The next time I break the law I’m going to be sure to tell them I didn’t intend to, so they’ll have to let me go.
I am chagrined and disappointed with the idea that Comey who knows the law, knows the limits of the law, can work his way around the law and knows damn well when he has violated the law and does so with obvious deliberation gets to violate the law with no consequences because his intent was unclear. He apparently gets the same Absolution as does Hillary Clinton. Rest assured, as long as these blatant crimes are unpunished and unprosecuted, the entire legal system is an unflushed toilet.
Intent? Intentional?
So if I would have disclosed sensitive or classified information no reasonable security officer would NOT issue a security violation.

Intent? Intent has nothing to do with guilt or innocence....nothing.
More baloney excuses. It was rumored/reported when Trump named Barr that he was doing so to fulfill a requirement from the Bush family as part of a Trump/Bush family truce at the time of Poppy’s funeral—that neither family would be prosecuted. They have dirt on each other and the mutual assured destruction led to this truce.
Barr is the enforcer put in place to make sure nothing bad comes out, and by giving him complete declassification power, Trump has given Barr the power to bury what needs burying to effectuate the truce.
The rule of law completely collapsed under the Clintons. That’s what brought many of us together here.
