Just to complete the record, the Washington Times and UPI were owned by the Reverend Sun Myung Moon.

And this is what people prefer to an Article V Convention of States for the purpose of proposing amendments? How is it different?
You still need 3/4 of the states for an article V Constitutional Convention. With the "convention of states" you don't even know what the proposals are...You think you do but since it's never been done or attempted, you don't.
I will guarantee you this: If there is ever a Convention of States the progressives and liberals will bastardize it into oblivion and the first things on the agenda, day one will be the first amendment (social media) and the 2nd day will be the 2nd amendment...GUARANTEED!
It's not, in the end, and that's my point.
People say that the CoS will be hijacked by the left and the proposed amendments that come out of it will undermine what the conservatives want. However, they still have the backstop of 3/4ths of the states to keep the loony proposals from being ratified.
I'm pointing out that the proposed amendments from a CoS can't be any more loony than what is currently coming out of Congress, so why not try the CoS, where at least some of the conservative amendments would get a hearing that would be impossible to get in a Congress that produces dreck like this?

How about get rid of elections....and red states!
This!
theyre going to try to repeal the first amendment?
It truly is the single issue that would eventually end our status as a free republic.
You are exactly right.

...and another point, you seem to think that the Citizens United case is worse for the Republic than the three 1913 decisions that change the course of the Republic. I think not. Income tax, the Federal Reserve and the Seventeenth Amendment were all individually worse for America.

To be fair, we ARE talking re: Amendments (least, for once, they’re going through the PROPER procedure)
My $.02:
The 17th is the kick-in-the-teeth, as you suggested.
Fed. Reserve is extra-constitutional (already having a Mint/Treasury/Congress & zero authority to bequeath unto a NON-govt entity).
RE: 16th, I have no complaints. It did NOTHING vs. 4th/5th, yet (somehow) just by filing tramples the two. Spending is STILL legally constrained via A1S8 (5th, 9th, 10th) w/ welfare & the like illegal via the 13th as well.
Prob. isn’t the Amendments...it’s the ILLEGAL, BIG govt not following the Constitution to begin.
Not to mention the degree of naivete that the COS folks would have you believe in order to think that nothing bad can possibly happen.
Prob. isnt the Amendments...its the ILLEGAL, BIG govt not following the Constitution to begin.
Absolutely no argument there, but CoS proponents would have you believe that more amendments will change BIG governments way of doing things.
Dear Chuck, the NEA, SEIU, AFLCIO are the stagnant, scum filled waters that hide creatures such as yourself.

Yes, yes they do.
I have yet to get any answer to a VERY simple question: Show me anything that’s been made CLEARER by adding MORE legalize.
Two words -- George Soros.
This is uncommonly noble of the Rats to use the Amendment process to make this change.
*********
This is because all they have to do now is take the bill into the Special House Select Committee of Voting For Stuff Just Because They Like It.
Then, once there and behind the closed vault door and the guards that don’t let anyone through that’s not on the list as pre-approved politically reliable, they can vote it in and wallah! Done.
/deluded idiot left.
