NYSEG wants to hike rates almost 24% next year. If NYSEG gets anything close to that, a lot of folks will be feeling a chill....

More years ago than I can count I built an all electric house in NYSEG’s service area. They were much cheaper than ConEd and it was a good deal compared to oil. I shudder to think what it is like today, but I did have it well insulated.

The coming mini Ice AGe will not be caused by the lack of sun spots, it is solely because of the Radical Global Warming Solutions Act spearheaded by Arnold the Girly Man in California, it was called AB32. Their radical overzealous plan plunged the earth into an Ice Age and they should be Severely Punished.

Anyone who's ever been to Central Park (the one in Manhattan) has seen those strange looking rocky outcrops scattered all around. Scientists say that those outcrops are proof that at one time New York City was enveloped by a very deep glacier.

I thought those rocky outcrops in Manhattan and the Bronx are metamorphic in origin.

If NYSEG gets the electric and gas rate increases it wants, the cold temps will get noticed.

Big time.

Nonsense. The rocks in Central Park are shaved in the same direction.

If massive ice sheets occured regularly, the rocks would be sanded down to nothing. The odds that the erosion was caused by a recent event 400 years ago is nil.

Not sure what you're objecting to in my post.

I wrote, "A scraped rock (roche moutonee)--- there are hundreds of them in Central Park. These are all scraped, gouged, abraded in the same direction" --- which is just what you said. One one-off occurrence as far as I know.

I didn't say anything about multiple "massive ice sheets occurring regularly," or "recent events 400 years ago". Perhaps you're thinking of somebody else?

I remember somesuch in Houston many years ago when it dropped below freezing: "For God's sake, if you love your pets, bring them indoors!"

What do pets in Minnesota do?

The icing on the cake would be a mega volcanic eruption that spews enough ejecta in to the atmosphere to further impact the decent into cooler temps.
