A Brazilian steakhouse has apologized to law enforcement officials in San Antonio, Texas, after a manager asked an armed officer to leave the restaurant.
The incident took place on Saturday at the downtown San Antonio location of Fogo de Chão, during which the manager reportedly requested the police officer leave because of his gun.
"A law enforcement officer who was dining at our San Antonio location recently was asked to leave the premises by our staff because he was carrying a firearm," the restaurant stated in a message posted to Facebook.

Here’s the irony of this nonsense: If one or more thugs walked in with visible guns & demanded service, I doubt this manager would have uttered a peep. He knows the police wont shoot him over his refusal of service, but the thugs surely will.
The only armed person such cowards are willing to challenge are those who protect them, not those who threaten them.
Something these people are consuming is making them crazy.
The why don't the brave LEOs that support the 2nd Amendment hold a press conference every time this happens and say that the leadership doesn't speak for the group?
I'll tell you why.... because when the time comes they'll gladly knock your door down, shoot your dog and put you up against the wall and blow your brains out for their pensions.
“Your average cop hates the fact Americans enjoy their 2A freedoms.”
Here in Iowa there was a story of an older black woman who had shot a home intruder with her handgun.
The cops helped her reload the gun before they left her home.
The ones I know do support 2nd Amendment rights. They know the good folks will only use on the people who pose a threat.
You don’t like the fact that people can attend rallies and practice a constitutional right.
Seems fair.
Local diner offers discount to officers and CHL holders to show support for law enforcement
Oh my goodness. The ones with whom I associate also appear to support those rights. But 1. it is a fallacy to argue from the specific to the general and 2. saying “yes all the chiefs and associations and departments are aligned but the officers themselves disagree” is akin to all the silly arguments about how “it was only the high command” in dictatorships, etc., that committed dark deeds. Generally, “Police in the USA” support gun control for civilians - whilst confiscating dollars, property, etc., (sometimes at will) to bolster their arsenals. There’s just no counter-argument except “well, golux, you’re wrong, I promise... (And I might disarm and arrest you if I could...)”
But I don't like being loud about carrying weapons. That's why I support concealed carry. Walking around the courthouse lawn carrying a rifle for no purpose other than you can seems counterproductive to the cause. But hey, you can have any opinion you like. I have never, and will never, confiscate a lawfully-carried firearm in my career. Quite the contrary. But y'all can go on convincing yourselves that cops are the enemy.
I don’t think I twisted your words.
You don’t like it when people practice their constitutional rights on public property. You don’t know that person holding the gun. They could be a better person and shot than you.
The issues they could cause are part of your job. If you don’t like it leave it.
How is that twisting your words.
By the way, if police unions don’t represent the police force, why are 95%+ members?
Most cops are union members because it's basically mandatory. Unions provide a good amount of medical coverage, free legal representation, discounts on lawyer fees for mortgages and other services, and extra pension benefits. To name a few.
It's illegal for cops to go on strike here. So my union is relatively powerless. When they do endorse a candidate, it's the candidate I would endorse anyway, so my politics lines up with the leadership. Whenever a cop is being railroaded by the department, the union steps up and helps. Those are my reasons.
Damn I love that movie. Named my two labs Woodrow and Gus.
Things change as one moves up in the management ranks, particularly in Democrat-controlled cities. Remember, "Police chiefs are appointed, Sheriffs are elected".
Democrat politicians are consistently opposed to the second amendment and relentlessly push for a disarmed citizenry. That is the direction they give to Police departments.
You don’t want to access it because it’s the truth. Have been to plenty of these protests, all unarmed or CC.
None were any more taxing on the law enforcement than a rally sponsored by some leftist group. I know because I made it a point to ask whatever security of law enforcement was present after the event “how do you think it went” or “any problems?”. The most common response was “it was relaxing compared to the other side” or just a plain “everything went great”
I feel your union post is as nonsensical as my rally post.
I have had plenty of experience with public unions including the police and fire union. I’ve not got the time to argue this today because it would be a long one.
Overpriced crap nothing like the original churasscos of Brasil
Way way overpriced
Nice play, well done!
Sometimes it actually helps to read the article. They are owning up to their mistake.
The full Facebook post:
A law enforcement officer who was dining at our San Antonio location recently was asked to leave the premises by our staff because he was carrying a firearm,”
“We made a mistake by asking him to leave and sincerely apologize to the officer and to the San Antonio Police Department for this unfortunate lapse in judgment. We are working hard to address and correct the matter, and that includes us apologizing directly to the officer and training our team members on the laws in relation to firearms on business premises. We support, respect and appreciate everything our law enforcement does to keep us safe, every day.”
bttt
I think it's foolish to assert that everyone in ANY group thinks alike. It's like when you're driving down the highway, and put on your turn signal to change lanes...some will slow down to let you in, others will speed up so you can't...and some have no idea what that flashing light means.
That is to say, some support an armed citizenry, some don't. Some cops I'd like to buy a beer...others I wouldn't want in my neighborhood.
“Your average cop hates the fact Americans enjoy their 2A freedoms.
Confiscations, arrests, tickets whenever possible, searches, siezures...
For a millisecond this one knows what its like to be an American.
And once again everyone acts as if every cop is a hero...”
To find the average cop, how many tens of thousands of cops did you interview. Your animus and bias is showing. Did you get a ticket lately?
There are three kinds of people in the world...wolves, sheepdogs, and sheep. Sheep by nature are nervous and foolish. It's to be expected.
