Polling shows that Johnson is more unpopular in Scotland than anywhere else in the United Kingdom.
A poll published last month found that would Scottish people would vote for independence from the rest of the UK in the event of Johnson become prime minister.
Business Insider revealed last month that when Johnson was the editor of The Spectator magazine, he published a poem joking about the "extermination" of the "verminous" Scottish people.
Johnson also wrote a column suggesting that Scottish people should be prevented from becoming prime minister.

The only difficulty with that involves the British naval base at Scapa Flow. Otherwise, it would be a net-win for England and Wales.

Agreed. Scotland is a huge weight around the neck of English taxpayers - and that includes North Sea oil.
An independant Scotland could always lease out Scapa Flow.
They’d need the income, especially as Shetland would devolve from Scotland, taking its oil with it.

I thought the Royal Navy moved out of Scapa Flow some time ago. They really don’t need it now since they don’t have much of a navy anymore. It’s sad and it was what was happening to our navy too, before we got Trump elected.

Yup! I’ve visited twice, found the people nice but then I didn’t discuss politics with them. They are notoriously left-wing.
There is no naval base at Scapa Flow and hasn't been for years. Scotland has some RAF radar stations and air stations, a base for RN ballistic missile subs at Faslane, a couple of army bases and that's it.
