Democrat Prospects Are Bleak As The Wacky Pack Takes Over
Townhall.com ^ | July 29, 2019 | Kurt Schlichter

Donald Trump is the odds-on fave to win reelection, and the Republicans can take back the House and keep the Senate if they aren’t stupid and incompetent – meaning it’s far from a done deal. But the Democrats are in a terrible position. The just and satisfying utter humiliation of crusty establishment hack Bob Mueller left them without a lot of good options going forward, since not being leftist idiots is obviously off the table. What do they do now that the entire soft coup hoax is a heap of garbage smoldering in the dumpster of American politics?

Do they stick with Putin paranoia? Do they pivot to talking about their party’s platform? “Hey America, let’s invite the entire world in and you get to pay for their stuff. And also for everyone else’s college. And you also get to repay the debt you don’t owe to people who weren’t slaves. And we’re banning SUVs and BBQs because of the weather in 2119. Vote Democrat!” This is not a viable policy program, except in the freaks how hothouse of some pinko-filled town hall conducted by the Socialist Squaw, Spartacus or Beto, who is a furry.

The Democrats are in a quandary. They can’t live with Russiagate and they can’t live without it. This is what happens when you get stuck because the quicksand you’re currently trapped in is less quick and less sandy than the quicksand you’d be stepping into.

One option is to shut their eyes real tight, cover their ears and screech, “La la la la la la I can’t hear you!” This is why we were treated to the phenom of the Marxist marionettes on the MSNBCNNs and at the WaPos, as well as the commie blue checks on Twitter (whose new lay-out sucks – how come social media evolution always seems to mean that the product gets worse?), panicking for a bit before calming down and settling on a post-Mueller testimony narrative, which was essentially, “What Mueller testimony?”

They simply deny the reality that his appearance on Capitol Hill will go down in history somewhere between Hiroshima and Nagasaki and proceed apace with their quest for the Holy Fail. The cliché used to be that if you repeat a lie often enough, people will believe it, but now the progs seem to think that if you repeat a lie often enough people will just get tired of the endless amateur gaslighting, shrug and give up.

Another tactic is to double down on a bad hand – sort of like in blackjack when the dealer is showing a king and you have sixteen. Jerry Nadler cinched his belt tightly about his sternum, waddled up to the podium and announced that Mueller was no biggie and that The Nad was nowhere near finished with his investigation and that there was devastating evidence out there that Trump might have intentionally removed a mattress tag at Mar-A-Lago in 1972 at the behest of Boy Putin. Too bad for Big Jerry that moving goalposts doesn’t count as exercise.

You would hope the GOP would take advantage of this. Cocaine Mitch, when he’s not churning out judge after wall-affirming judge, should be setting up vote after vote after vote on heinous Democrat proposals to get lib senators on the record and challenge ringmistress Nancy Pelosi to do the same. Republicans can slam their opponents for sticking with the Russia Neverending Story-ski, and then slam them again when the libs try to pivot to something else. Luckily, the GOP is full of savvy political geniuses who would never be so inept as to squander a winning hand by being stupid and weak.

Speaking of stupid and weak, count on the Fredocon cruise crew at Conservative, Inc., to leverage its uncanny ability to achieve defeat in the face of overwhelming opportunity and to try to help the Democrats by changing the subject. It’s already starting. After putting their chips on the RUSSIA TREASON EMOULUMENTS TRAITOR COLLUSION MORE TREASON thing, some of our betters have decided that the best way to deal with the insane and begging-to-be-mocked Green New Deal is not to jam it down the moderates’ throats (“Hey soccer moms – that Ford Expedition you cart around your kids in is a no-go because of Gaia.”) but to embrace it. Yeah, because True Conservatism™ now means buying into the global warming hoax for some reason.

Frank Luntz, who is a less entertaining Dick Morris without the credibility, and of course David French, both bought into the grift, but then again are you really surprised? Luntz famously announced “In case I wasn't clear enough from my previous tweets: Hillary Clinton will be the next President of the United States.  #ElectionNight” on November 8, 2016, while French’s schtick for the last few years has been that Jesus hates Trump and, by extension, you. Conservatism for the Never Trump set was always about conserving their influence. Maybe they hope the pagan hot weather gods will make their Trumpy pain go away if they just pray to the climate fraud idols hard enough. Ahoy!

The congressional Democrats are in a miserable position. Their party is under internal attack by leftist loons whose approval ratings are on par with syphilis. Their last three years were wasted chasing the collusion chimera. Their party platform demands Americans give up their doctors, their guns, their cars and their money. The only thing they have going for them is that their opponents are the Republicans. Come to think of it, the odds might actually be in their favor.

Gotta win back a lot of stolen seats.

Not so easy if they are stolen again.

I know that is all local but Trump knows how important it is to win the house back and perhaps he will put people in place and have lawyers everywhere to make sure LESS cheating happens.

I know a president doesn’t get involved at the lower level, but this President is smart and see 3 steps ahead.

I HATE the 3D chess thing so I’m using sees 3 steps ahead :)

so let me see if i understand this correctly.

The democrats colluded with the russians to obtain evidence that trump colluded with the russians. Then the evidence they collected in their collusion turned out to be false. And they want to impeach trump for that.

Is that your elevator speech?!

The reason the Republicans lost the House in 2018 was because it was intentionally engineered by Paul Ryan. It was a passive-agressive coup engineered by Ryan and 40 of his colleagues whom he cajoled into joining him in retirement.

No speaker retires when his party controls the Senate and the Presidency. No loyal party member retires. Ryan's "retirement" was a deliberate attempt to sabotage President Trump's agenda. Think about how he slow walked The Wall, kept promising "in the spring", "in the summer", "in the fall". Ryan rope-a-doped President Trump long enough to slip out the retirement door.

No doubt each and every one of those 40 "retirees" got a fat check from some Soros or Koch brothers backed lobby group. The country didn't suddenly swing left, but losing the incumbants as candidates gave the "D"s a great advantage.

Being three steps ahead can result in being too far out ahead of your skis. The underlying assumption is that steps two and three are successfully predicted. Predicting is hard, especially when it involves the future. ;)

Trump is either a master of it, or impossibly lucky. His opponents never seem to get out of reactive mode, rocked back on their heels so often they have a permanent tilt.

He’s living proof that you don’t have to be a politician to excel at politics.

"The only thing they have going for them is that their opponents are the Republicans. Come to think of it, the odds might actually be in their favor."

__________

.... that may be true.

I saw Lard-boy, Mouth-farting Chris Christie on a Sunday show yesterday morning as he groveled to the host when confronted by the claim that Trump was an ugly racist for going after Cummings.

Instead of Christie presenting the loud, reprehensible, and repulsive way by which Cummings continually portrays in public testimony the conditions at the border, Christie punked out and basically agreed that Trump did the racist deed.

MOST Republican Congressfreakazoids are just as bad as the Dems.

******

I'm soon to be 73 years old, and I have never seen the country in this bad form.

The younger generations and generally/comparatively ignorant and coarse and the older generations share a distant selfishness that also serves the country poorly.

In short .............. little to nothing gets done to clean up what really is not merely a SWAMP .... it's a voluminous SEWER.

"The Squad" aka the "Wacky Pack."

I like it.

"The Wacky Pack" describes them nicely.

I don’t think i’ve ever planned 3 steps ahead. :)

I guess you can but if step 1 doesn’t work out how you planned, then you need new steps 2 and 3.

This is too deep this early, or late :)

He Does Seem to have a keen awareness of what his enemies’ weaknesses are and how to get them to go insane with hatred and say stupid things.

And it’s not 1992, Trump is NOT bush, and Twitter didn’t exist.

It must HURT twitter to know it’s one of Trump’s most potent weapons.

Good :)

I'll simply repeat what I've said in the past about elections and being this far out from them:

1) We're still more than a YEAR away from the next Presidential election;

2) That's a LIFETIME in politics;

3) The Stupid Party (Republicans) have shown us in the past they're more than capable of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

America has a Sodom and Gomorrah problem.

We who are not part of the problem cannot clean it up. And those who are part of the problem have no inclination to do so.

That leaves God and nature.

Whatever comes, the weirdness of the Left will not--cannot--endure.

That said, I don't think we should just let it be. I think it is incumbent on us to isolate it and point out its natural idiocy.

Ridicule has great power.

I won't celebrate until the high ranking members of the Deep State are in handcuffs, being flown aboard a C-17 to GITMO.

Further, I don't think we will retake the House. We lost at least 18 Republican seats in deeply Democrat states because the Tax Bill screwed over millions of Republicans and fence sitters by capping or eliminating longstanding tax deductions, and there is no strategy to rectify that. None.

Lastly, we all know the Bell Curve exists per human intellect. The statistical distribution of intelligence (not wisdom, that is something entirely different), but intellect, is scientific fact. We also have a political Bell Curve in this country. It looks like this:

Never underestimate the stupidity (political or otherwise) of people.

The media can, and does, manipulate those in the center and on the left side of the curve with ease. Further, the cry for "FREE STUFF!" appeals to the sinful and envious hearts of millions of people. Throw in millions of Illegal Invader "votes", and we have a titanic fight on our hands.

I don't believe that graph is accurate. There is no equal balance between left and right. People who consider themselves conservative is much greater than those who consider themselves liberal.

And the is also the "fiscal" and "social" dichotomy.

The big problem is that Leftists are more aggressive and push their ideology. Conservative just want to be left alone.

Most of the social changes that have taken place in the US in the last 50-60 years was opposed my a majority of Americans, but was pushed by a small group of liberals that controlled the MSM and the courts.
