I don’t believe the image is “fake,” but I do believe it got there accidentally by a natural process. The vituperation I sometimes get when I explain my reasoning is something to behold, and it comes from both sides of the debate. The bottom line is that no one interested in the Shroud is prepared to approach it with the objectivity it requires.
Anybody keeping up with the latest science on this?
The dating. etc.
Any informed opinions of its authenticity?
I’m simply curious, as humans are.
Latest I heard is that there was repairs to an area, and this area was where the carbon dating came from. That’s all.

We can’t even trust historical planetary temperatures because NASA altered them to support Climate Change models. Why would anyone listen to any so-called “scientist”?
Not into this shroud thingy, did it have blood on it? Type? DNA? To have a featured face on it, it would have to have been pressed down flush against the face and held there. ????
Those that mock it or doubt it are either spiritually immature or intellectually lazy
There is pollen from plants that only grow in the hinnom valley
There is bilirubin in the blood
The image is a negative not positive and isnt on top of the cloth but IN the cloth created when what was touching it transformed and the cloth fell through it
I could go on and on but would rather you continue in you mocking and ignorance
I once had both but ridicule for Catholics and their tokens and then I had my road to dimascus experience
That changed everything
The shroud and the headpiece in Spain are the only things left on earth that physically touched Jesus the Christ
How you deal with that fact is between you and the King

Then Jesus pronounced a blessing on those who can believe without seeing.
The shroud means absolutely nothing to my Faith though I believe it is the Image of God. But I have seen and see plenty that points to the existence of God. I’ve been testing the idea of the Biblical God against the world since my early twenties and God always wins. I started out doubting as a kid and then in my teens dismissed religion as a nice story weaklings use to comfort themselves. What have I learned after 60 years?: Bet on the Bible. Bet your life.
“I dont believe the image is fake, but I do believe it got there accidentally by a natural process.”
Interesting.....Especially considering with all that 21st century tools at our disposal we find it’s duplication elusive.
Now onto my question knowing that fact, why would some undefinable hereto unknown “natural process” be a more likely scenario then the belief that it was generated and caused at the split second that Jesus was resurrected from the dead?
“to make money for Turin Cathedral”
I hope it does. The repairs after the fire were quite expensive.
“Not into this shroud thingy, did it have blood on it?”
Yes.
“Type?”
AB. Blood type on the Sundarium is also AB. Blood type of all tested Eucharistic miracles is also AB. https://www.nationalreview.com/2016/04/shroud-turin-jesus-christ-blood-relic-sudarium-oviedo/
“DNA?”
Not analyzed.
“To have a featured face on it, it would have to have been pressed down flush against the face and held there. ????”
Normally, yes - this isn’t normal by any stretch of the imagination, however.
Because it's a natural artifact and we live in a natural cosmos.
Think statuary, sedimentary rock, naturally-occurring radioactive elements and time.
I can only assume that what you call "mocking" is a byword for "objective questioning." I certainly haven't mocked the artifact by any standard description of the term.
Don’t know about the Shroud but a vial of wine transformed into blood during a Mass was tested to be AB.
Pretty ignorant.
Those that need the shroud and other relics are spiritually immature. The shroud maybe real or not. It simply does not matter. Why worry about a relic when we have Christ?
Those who mock it are simply not idol worshipers, unlike most Catholics.
