here's my opinion of him in hindsight:
So overall I supported Dubya but not on Iraq - on every other point I did. And I think that he was a good President - the gulf War 2 removed him from being among the best, but he was still a good President.
I took extreme exception with his chumming up with Ted Kennedy and Bill Clinton. The whole “No Child Left Behind” endeavor, his refusal to stick up for Scooter Libby, his stance on immigration, and his persistent refusal to stand up for himself and let himself be a passive punching bag for the left were things that infuriated me.
I supported military action in the Middle East when it happened, and I still do in the context of when it happened and why, and I understand and respect people who feel differently about it than I do.
In retrospect, I would not support it. But for me, that is in retrospect.
