What few paid attention to at the time was Bush's program that gave downpayments to low-income borrowers, enabling them to buy houses, which added rocket fuel to the growing bubble. A program that epitomizes the dimwitted Republican liberal who promoted it, giving away tax money to favored minorities. Who needs Democrats when the GOP is run by fools like this?

So we've doubled the funds for housing counseling services, including those run by faith-based and community groups."
