Robert Mueller’s testimony before the House Judiciary Committee on July 24, 2019 revealed something that has become common in modern politics. He knew and remembered very little, leading some observers to wonder whether he had even read his own report. The significance of his appearance goes far beyond the immediate issue. Mueller is a symbol of the ventriloquism that is poisoning meaningful political discussion in America.
Mueller enjoyed a solid reputation as a law enforcement official in several presidential administrations. He was not known for partisanship. Mueller’s respectability was the perfect hood ornament for the left’s crusade against President Trump. Mueller, with his decades of military and law enforcement experience, would be leading the charge and dispensing justice. The only problem is that they failed to keep Mueller informed about the whole enterprise. They let him enjoy his retirement while staff members, shadowy Clinton allies, Obama holdovers at the FBI and DoJ, “journalists” and others dug for dirt, spread rumors, swatted people on CNN and generally did what the Deep State does. Long after the issuance of a disappointing report, Mueller only reluctantly agreed to testify in Congress. When such testimony became unavoidable, it revealed how little he knew.
This episode has disturbing parallels with the Brett Kavanaugh nomination in 2018, when Christine Blasey Ford signed a letter denouncing Trump’s nominee while her surrogates argued her case on television and fought mightily to prevent her from testifying about her letter or even appearing in public. When she finally did testify, she conspicuously forgot all details that would have lent credibility to her story. She knew less about her own story than Mueller would know about his report. Where has this writer been? Bob Mueller has been a political hack for years: Whitey Bolger, Enron, Arthur Anderson, Uranium One and now this. His credibility, if he had any, has been gone for years. He should have recused himself from this investigation since he was a friend of James Comey, had a business fall out with Trump in the past, and was turned down by Trump for a job prior to the “investigation”.
Reminds me of that kid early in Clinton’s presidency who either didn’t remember anything he had written in his diary or said he misquoted himself.
Haven’t we all been in situations, usually in school, or a job interview, where we had to cram all the information we could for an event,debate, speech or exam?
Shouldn’t Mueller have at least carefully read and outlined his memory aid notes on his own published report?
He knew he would be questioned for hours on camera. Called being prepared. He must have heard of that term.

Yes, but the point of the article is that Mueller’s stumblebum performance was an act.She makes the same comparison I make - to Christine Blasey Ford’s performance. Both put up a “victim” facade to evade responsibility for the respective facts that
- Ford was lying, and
- Mueller was evading truth as plain as the nose on your face.
Mueller knew, or absolutely should have known, within a week that “there was no ‘there,' there.” He spent, what - $50 million? harassing our president and his administration, studiously avoiding noticing the vacuous nature of the charges he was “investigating” - and running out the clock past the 2018 election before admitting the obvious.

It must have been exhilarating to be an American at the dawn of our country. I wish I could change my perspective for that one. Seeing it collapse into corruption and degeneracy are depressing. The steps of grief. Acceptance.
