House panel seeks grand jury material underlying Mueller report
The Hill ^ | 07/26/19 | Morgan Chalfant and Jacqueline Thomsen

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) announced Friday that his committee is filing an application in court to obtain the grand jury material underlying former special counsel Robert Mueller’s report on Russian interference and possible obstruction of justice by President Trump.

Nadler said that the panel is seeking the material in order to decide whether to recommend articles of impeachment against Trump — perhaps the Democratic chairman’s most significant and public acknowledgement that his committee is considering impeachment as a possibility.

"Because Department of Justice policies will not allow prosecution of the sitting president, the United States House of Representatives is the only institution of the federal government that can now vote President Trump accountable for these actions,” Nadler said at a press conference Friday afternoon, quoting from the application his committee was about to file in court.

“To do so, the House must have access to all the relevant facts and consider whether to exercise its full Article I powers, including a constitutional duty power of the utmost gravity — recommendation of articles of impeachment. That duty calls in the first instance to the House Committee on the Judiciary,” he continued.

They are desperate and are hoping that somehow there will be something they can use against Pres. Trump.

I’m sure they want AG Barr to commit a crime so that they can then not call him a criminal and demand his removal from office followed by prosecution.

I keep reading about all the evidence of obstruction of justice but have never read exactly what the evidence is.

Congress will get this information.

The courts will uphold a request that cites Impeachment. Likely after a long fight.

A rancher's analysis of the Mueller Report

A Wyoming rancher's summary of the Mueller report and Democrats' hapless ongoing efforts in one sentence:

"While we recognize that the subject did not actually steal any horses, he is obviously guilty of trying to resist being hanged for it."

I heard Rush describe how the Judge should handle it, it’s your law, you change it. I personally Disagree, If I were the Judge and a Member of the Legislative Branch asked me to OVERRIDE HIS LAW, I would find the Plaintiff and Attorney in Criminal Contempt and Remand them for 60 Days.

Don’t count on it.

The courts are not completely gullible enough to believe that reciting the word impeachment means anything goes. After the Mueller fiasco courts are likely to demand some evidence there is a real likelihood a crime was committed and they are not simply doing it to leak to the media. Since they have bragged endlessly about doing just that, I don’t see it happening- especially with Trump’s businesses.

Any Federal Judge, up to and including the USSC will approve this subpoena.

Legitimate Legislative Purpose.

Whether it’s bullsh!t or not, they will not second guess the assertion when the impeachment word is used.

I am waiting for Nadler to do one of his criminal contempts for the grand jury info. That would be coercing a felony. Indict Nadler. We would have to wait for a Congressional recess to arrest him. Notice that the dems never go into recess. That is to prevent themselves from being arrested. Their criminality runs deep and wide.

They don’t have to guess about anything- there is clearly no evidence of a crime. It’s just a tantrum.

I am guessing that USSC will resolve this dilemma when they take up the matter of his taxes. Kavenaugh ought to consider that all of his taxes and other matters could be trawled thru as well and used to defame him. They want to “impeach” him too.

Bad Lawyering:101

All these prosecutors knew the prohibition on Grand Jury info. Why on earth would they try to bring negative info about Donald Trump before a Grand Jury?

Besides that, nothing prevents the Special Counsel’s Office from calling the same witnesses to testify to build a case against Trump without using a Grand Jury.

Occam’s razor tells me that there is NOTHING in the Grand Jury info about Trump. If they had something, they would have gotten the testimony without using a Grand Jury.

I always believed in the rule of law

Until I was almost killed on 9/11

I now believe some people deserve to be shot
for their crimes and that includes many of these bad actors

Is this not double jeopardy ? In effective being charged with the same crime twice ? And exactly which crime is this about ? Collusion or obstruction ?

The correct ruling would be:

Since the law that prevents Grand Jury testimony to be revealed was passed by Congress then it is up to Congress to change the law. The Court should not be involved.

“Since the law that prevents Grand Jury testimony to be revealed was passed by Congress then it is up to Congress to change the law. The Court should not be involved.”

Except NONE of that is true.

It’s not a statute. It’s a set of rules handed down by the Federal Courts after Congress abdicated its responsibility to legislate.

And it DOES NOT bind Congress in any way.
