President Donald Trump said Friday he would not give Apple a waiver for Mac Pro computer parts made in China. Apple will not be given Tariff wavers, (sic) or relief, for Mac Pro parts that are made in China, he wrote on Twitter. Make them in the USA, no Tariffs! Apple had requested the Office of U.S. Trade Representative to exempt their company from a proposed 25 percent tariff on computer parts from China.

Another reason to love this President.
The FR Apple snobs ain’t gonna like this!
The Free Traitor Army won’t like it either.
I like Apple (compared to Microsoft and Google) just fine, but they should be subject to the same rules.
Good for you, mister President. Screw Apple, they have over a hundred billion dollars sitting in the tax haven of the island of Jersey that they don’t even know what to do with!
The Federal government has a duty and an obligation to promote domestic industry through protectionism. This is a great thing he is doing.
The FR Apple snobs aint gonna like this!

Mrs Sessions, I guess you could call me an FR Apple snob but I like it. Tariffs across the board for ALL China origin product, NOW!
They actually had the gall to ask?
Mac Pro was one of the last things they did assemble (and pretty much only that) in the US.
It’s amazing. Cheap labor? Got black people in Mississippi, Detroit, Chicongo....Navajos and Hopis on the Rez in Arizona...po white peeples in pretty much everywhere!
But Timmy the Rump Ranger can’t see employing them. Nope! He needs Chinese slaves....and we’re supposed to protect his little offices in Cupertino!
Forget it Timmy! Move to Guangzhou! See how the Communist Cadres treat a perverted caucasian geek!
A side note: there’s an American company called Raptor that makes Power9 based systems with one or two processors and between 4 and 22 cores per processor that will run Mac OS10.5.8 as well as current distributions of Linux. It supports the latest graphics cards too (in fact the 2070 seems to be standard).
Now, my old G5 quad still does all I want it to ... but I admit that that is tempting.
Why? Don’t see a problem with this. It’s fine for Apple to ask (can’t get a “yes” if you don’t ask) as a possible path to reduced costs. It’s fine for Trump you say “no” (his concern is trade wars & general domestic production, not individual businesses).
Said the FR Sessions snob.
I was hoping to get one of those bad boys, but now its even less affordable.
The retail price will be unaffected of that I am sure.
Praise God (YHVH)!
For the most part, they are ameritrash that will not work
They are druggies and unrelaible no shows.
In short hiring them becomes a corporate liabilty
Excellent!!!!
And we have ameritrash because of democrat socialism welfare programs.
Apple has been having its suppliers (like Foxconn) transfer some of their production outside if China.
Production lines for new products were set up elsewhere (like India), while the lines in China were continuing to run, to pay off their initial costs.
That kind of reasonably efficient transition, is the kind of thing that might be reasonably accommodated.
But this request was to shut down an existing line in the USA, and move it to China. Gotta make the point (and the costs) clear to them.
