And please do not come to Texas if you are a liberal New Yorker. It is really hot an miserable here, and you won’t like it.
If you are a conservative, we got beer and guns and pretty women without the penis. Come on down.

I would have thought it would be more than 13% , just the sales tax alone I would think would drop when you move from New York to Florida.

Ditto, that.

Also, with all of the chaos going on in PR, reports of thousands of those residents are making their way to FL. They, too, tend to be liberal.

If the trend continues, living in FL could lose it’s luster.

Conservative Californian. Parts of Dallas are on their way to becoming LA, but you probably knew that.

Red states will be mostly blue in ten years...

Left New York State in 1980...

Moved to Colorado Springs...left in 2000...

Californians turned the state blue....

Moved to Florida....

Florida one election away from a blue disaster..

Where do I move to when 77 degrees is cold?...

The country is doomed.

Trump is just a bump in the road...like Reagan

Cost of living, in general, goes way down.

Utilities, housing, groceries, gas, etc, etc.

We have a good Governor, let’s keep our state moving forward...

If you are a Liberal New Yorker please don’t come to NC. There is a state tax and outside of the beach or mountains there is nothing to do here.

The beaches have poor access and horrible mosquitoes. The mountains are full of inbred hillbillies looking to dilute their gene pool.

The article is not particularly clear, but I think it must not be a 13% reduction in state/local taxes paid but 13% of some higher money amount (perhaps federal 1040 “taxable income”?).

You are correct. The large inflow of people from PR has changed the I-4 corridor south which may turn the state blue in future elections.

-Flee to Florida.

-See how low the cost of living + taxes are.

-Leftist activist there start putting all types of tax increases on the ballot to “invest and improve” (insert stuff here)

-Former New Yorkers look at the ballot proposals and say: “I should vote Yes because the increase in taxes will still leave my cost of living far below what I was paying back in NY, and we can get better (insert thing here) to boot!”.

-Original locals are now being priced out of their homes as this is REPEATED over and over again because the newbies are used to high taxes, and dont see the new huge property tax bill as an issue. Many renters complain that there is no longer any “affordable housing” because rents go up to cover the bigger property tax bill.

[This is what happens in my town here in Michigan]

“If you are a Liberal New Yorker please don’t come to NC.”

Ditto for TN. There are three Baptist churches on every intersection. We love Trump. We pray before meals. Liberals would be very unhappy here!

The pattern here is that people on the right dont care to stay and fight, and just keep moving, act like leftist dont know what a U-Haul is, and then act astonished when a “state turns blue”.

Stop cutting and running and maybe you guys would fare better.

The problem is, people move to a red state but many still vote for the same progressive policies and type of politician that caused most of the problems in the place they fled from.

Far easier to subsidize liberals up north than to have them moving and destroying other states. That goes for most people.
