Revealed: Mueller deputy Weissmann’s offer to Ukrainian oligarch to drop prosecution in exchange
American Thinker ^ | 07/23/2019 | Thomas Lifson

It’s an open secret that Robert Mueller was a figurehead in the special counsel probe aimed at unseating President Trump, and that the actual operational boss of the team of Trump-haters was Andrew Weissmann. Former US Attorney Joe DiGenova goes so far as to call the Mueller Report the “Weissmann Report.”

The offer was declined, and the oligarch’s attorneys state that this is because there was nothing to offer. But what makes the situation scandalous is that an Austrian court – where the oligarch fled --  has received documents on the offer that have led it to halt extradition to the United States to face trial on the case that Weissmann offered to drop, telling the world that something fishy indeed was going on.

Solomon writes:

The ink was still drying on special counsel Robert Mueller’s appointment papers when his chief deputy, the famously aggressive and occasionally controversial prosecutor Andrew Weissmann, made a bold but secret overture in early June 2017.

With Mueller’s testimony scheduled for Wednesday, leakers have revealed to John Solomon of The Hill that Weissmann pushed an effort to obtain incriminating testimony about Trump “collusion” from a Ukrainian oligarch, Dmitry Firtash, to the ethical limits and maybe beyond – offering to drop prosecution on a case pending in the United States in return for something to use against Trump.

Weissmann quietly reached out to the American lawyers for Ukrainian oligarch Dmitry Firtash with a tempting offer: Give us some dirt on Donald Trump in the Russia case, and Team Mueller might make his 2014 U.S. criminal charges go away.

And they would remove our President over less. This isn’t going to end well for the left. Not at all.

This Weissmann character has ruined so many lives while abusing the law that I believe he should be tried, convicted and executed as an example to other wannabe tyrants.

“This isn’t going to end well for the left. Not at all.”

Nothing will be done about this. — because it’s the left.

They could not even bribe the Russians into collusion. The pope may no longer be Catholic, but the bear still poops in the woods.

How do you see this ending for the left?

I see that articles will be written, pundits will speak and books will be written. A mighty sound of murmurmurmurmurmur will resound for a few months.

If a Dem falls to corruption in America, but there are no media around to see it, did it happen?

Well, well...... let’s revisit Sleepy Joe’s son and the Ukraine super $$$ job. Gee, golly, was Weissman involved in that payoff plan that sleepy Joe offered / ahem threatened the Ukraine about THAT investigation.

We always connect the dots. See the corruption and then we get hoodwinked, like with the nice, very talented (cough cough) Awan Bros and DWS. Corruption at it’s worst for this great nation. NOTHING is ever done.

Can Trump overcome some of this? Seems to be waiting on release of Barr and Durham investigation and WE will all grow old waiting for that IG report that of course promises the destruction of every DEM in DC. yeah, right. Don’t hold your breath.

Weissman seems to be a re-make of fellow Columbia Law School alumni Richard Ben-Veniste.

Here is a little sample of Ben-Veniste’s “work” during Watergate. From the Texas A & M Collection of interviews by Len Colodny, author of Silent Coup. Interview of Robert Mardian 1990.

MARDIAN: Well, you know, the-, the prosecutors, uh, th-, like little Ben-Veniste, I told you the story about . . .

COLODNY: That’s right, w- . . .

MARDIAN: . . . when he insisted on talking to me alone, he didn’t want a witness and he, and, uh, Dave Bress, uh, talked me into 1-, letting him talk to me.

And he said: “Well, Mardian the train is leaving, uh . . .
COLODNY: Well, I’m sure that they told that, I, they said that in spades to Magruder.

MARDIAN: . . . uh, do you want to be aboard?”

And I said: “What are you talking about?” He says: “You can be a witness or a defendant.”

And I said: “What am I gonna be a witness to?”

He says: “Don’t worry, we’ll tell you.”

And that’s when I grabbed the little son-of-a-bitch and
said: “What you just said is worse than anything you
could accuse me of . . .
