Time for every NYPD officer worth their salt to do a “John Kerry” medal throwing act and go to City Hall, bring 55 gallon drums and throw their badges into them as a sign of resignation, and then go home.

This is the “Baltimore” effect finding its way to the NYPD. Despite the standard Leftist drivel, cops are not monsters or Nazis. Cops are no different than any of us except that they have chosen to spend their professional lives helping and protecting others. But, at some point it is no longer worth it to do so. As the hatred of police skyrockets, as political leaders seek to score points with their constituents by branding the cops as racists, and as thugs take over the streets without fear, as they have in Portland, cops seem to have had enough. There is no benefit in exposing themselves to danger by helping those who wish them ill. So, more and more cops simply are doing the minimum and in doing so are ceding the streets to the criminals.
